I have ordered these towels many times in the past and have used them for embroidery and as gifts for family and friends. I was so disappointed with the last batch I received. I always wash them before sewing and they were cut so crooked that I couldn't even use some.

I love this UPDATE. Three of these towels had defects. I've never experienced that. I will order again. If the quality control is still missing, this will be my last time. Second update: the last batch of 8 wasn't cut even remotely on a straight line. I had to open it up and reattach it. Probably the last time I ordered. Too bad because they are good towels.

I didn't realize how small they are but I really think I should have taken the size into account and how badly they would shrink. These towels are very thick and feel premium until you wash them. They all shrank into bizarre shapes, and many of them were tightened. If you just wash dishes, everything is fine. If you want them folded up and hanging over the oven handle, you'll find that you can't fold them to appear square. Strange.

The lady who was unhappy with towels because they don't fold well was right. After the towels are washed they shrink inside the towel at different rates and you have edges that don't line up when folded and look really awful around the edges. They are beautiful and durable for embroidery which is why I bought them. All the embroideries turned out nice, but they don't fit well, so they look a bit inferior. I don't think I would buy them again for that reason alone. I will try another brand next…

I washed and dried them according to directions; I did this three times before I started my project. The first picture shows minimal wrinkles immediately after drying; no problem to use them without ironing. The second photo shows the size before washing. The last two photos compare before and after washing/drying; You can see that they decrease in length by about 4 inches and do not decrease in width. I use these towels for drying dishes and for embroidery. These are beautiful towels, just like my grandmother's in the 1960's. They're cotton, which is why they make such good kitchen towels. At the same time, they wrinkle and crease. It is in order. With each wash they become softer and wrinkle less. Creases are a little unsightly, but if you dry a plate or two they will smooth out.
