Capable Chef Knife best in my review

Bought this knife more as a curiosity then a need for a new knife. I have used Wusthof exclusively for 30 years and I love them. Went through ebay payment system, thus the review. The knife comes in a wooden box, mine was broken upon arrival, both hinges were completely broken off and the lid was sitting on top. I would have enjoyed storing in the box, but the box is junk(nice wood). On to the knife. HMMMM I am getting used to the Santoku design, compared to the normal chef knife shape like my…

Pros
  • It is a solid knife
Cons
  • The blade may be too long for some tasks

Chinese steel in my review

If it’s one thing the Chinese has be, is it’s cheap steel. These knives look good but the steel is soft and the edge chips easily. Also scratches very easily with a scrubbing sponge.

Pros
  • Awesome knife best one I've ever owned.
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for people with small hands

Best quality knife I have ever owned

Best quality knife I have ever owned. This Kamikoto knife is simply amazing. Starting from the packaging all the way through the design of the knife everything is absolutely wonderful. It screams quality and elegance. I love it and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high-end stainless steel super knife!

Pros
  • Kamikoto
Cons
  • It may not be ideal for people who prefer to use a rocking motion while cutting

These are the best knives I ever owned.

I have bought the whole set, and I mean the whole set. These are the best knives I have ever owned,I have owned previous knives but never like these.I read some of the reviews and a lot of the people don’t know what they’re talking about,When they say they don’t like these, or there’s something wrong with them.I have a beautiful set nothing is wrong with my knives I love every single one of them.I have owned these knives for over four years I use them constantly and I have never sharpen them…

Pros
  • The Kamikoto 7In. Santoku Chef Knife is resistant to rust, stains, and corrosion, making it easy to maintain and clean
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for people who prefer knives with a curved blade shape

Just spend a bit more on something else.

The knife lost its edge as soon as the knife touched my butcher block cutting board, meaning cutting into the edge. I sharpened it and the burr would not some off it would just flip back and forth. It's either badly heat treated steel or really low quality steel. Will not hold an edge nor take an edge easily.

Pros
  • Awesome!
Cons
  • The blade may dull quickly if not properly cared for

Scam company, garbage knives. Run away!

Google "kamikoto +scam” and you will see. This company is scamming people. Dishonest in every sense of the word. Im a professional knife sharpener and former chef. The knives are terribly made and the quality is truly bad. They bank on uninformed people falling for their claims of being "luxury goods” and faux japanese branding, when in fact they are far below below average and designed to make money, not good knives. There are MANY better knives for for the same or less money.

Pros
  • The knife comes with a protective sheath, ensuring safe and secure storage when not in use
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for people with a limited grip strength

Kamikoto Knives are Amazing!

I absolutely love the Kamikoto Santoku Chef Knife I purchased. I originally sought the Kamikoto collection for my favorite chef on the planet, my mother. Their elegance and precision are incomparable. She immediately fell in love with them and hers now have proper names and have been worked into her will and added to the holiday gift list. Haha! The first thing they wanted was a sharpening block. I happily obliged and indulged them with one of yours and now as I have some of my own to use, mom…

Pros
  • The Kamikoto 7In. Santoku Chef Knife comes with a lifetime warranty, giving you peace of mind knowing that you have a high-quality product that will last
Cons
  • It may not be the ideal choice for cutting through thick or frozen meats

Cons

Major scam best in my review

These knives are a giant scam. If you look on the website the steel used is 420j2 steel, which is the absolute lowest grade of steel you could use to make something that could reasonably function as a knife. The steel used is absolute garbage for the intended use, and will dull after a carrot or two. For the money there are plenty of great knife companies out there that use actual steel, like vg-10, vg-max, white paper 2. and many others. Don't waste your money, this should be no more than…

Pros
  • The blade is made with a special heat treatment process, which increases its durability and resistance to wear and tear
Cons
  • It may not be the best choice for people who prefer to use a Japanese-style nakiri knife

amazing craftsmanship and sharp

Received this, along with the Kanpeki knife set, as Christmas presents from my BF. He knew that I have been wanting a decent chef's knife and to get all of these knives was quite a pleasant surprise. The knives are sharp as razor--you could shave with them (i tried them on his arm :-)). Handles are steady and stable, and so smooth to use when you cut. I have only used the Santoku/chef's knife to date, but i am sure the others will be just as great. The knives and the packaging are amazing and…

Pros
  • The traditional Japanese design adds a touch of elegance to any kitchen, complementing any kitchen décor
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for people who prefer knives with a non-slip handle
