Very nice but not what I expected.

Nice tool in my artist's tool box. The weight feels nice and solid in the hand and the large lead size is very comfortable to use on big shots and areas. The leadership is where it fails for me. Like light 5V. There's no depth, which is a little disappointing. Normal 5B pencils have a much deeper tone. If that suits you, then this is a great tool. I will look for higher quality leads to meet my needs.

Great little pencil

Great little pencil. Just don't press the down-facing button, as this may cause the wire to fall. I like how it feels in my hand. It's heavy and definitely durable. The lines are solid and dark, and the tip can be easily sharpened with the included in-knob sharpener. I just want the clip to be standard and not sold separately. This is now part of my EDC rotation. It's nice to have it for the occasional sketch and even just recording stuff. People who see it admire the way it is made with aโ€ฆ

I discovered Kaweco late in my search for writing implements. To my surprise, I have now added this drawing pen to my Kaweco horde. I love brass for this and my other Kaweco products for its simplicity and perfect finish. Over time they will develop a patina with use which I think enhances the look. In terms of mechanical performance, this broad, soft-tipped sketching pen is the best; maintains a small sporty size yet comfortable when drawing, and the built-in sharpener on the back makes it the

Own sketching

Writing instruments are objects that have a personal meaning in our lives. We all have (or had) favorite writing or drawing paraphernalia that we always return to or would love to get our hands on again. This short but thick and heavy pencil clutch is just such an item. At first glance, this doesn't seem like a comfortable pen for work. It's shorter than most drawing and wooden pencils, thicker than most pencils, and its weight is an immediate indicator of fatigue. Lead 5.6 mm does not helpโ€ฆ

When I ordered this I didn't realize it would come in its own tin case or that the pencil would look better live than any of the staged photos I've seen. Raw brass forms a beautiful patina and, as a metal, also conducts heat very well; which almost gives it an attitude towards life with increasing use. The included 6B lead writes and draws exceptionally well. But this is actually the first time I've used a leash this soft, so the adage "your mileage may vary" applies here. For anyone looking to

Holy shit! on Painting, Painting & Art Supplies

I picked this up when I noticed the price had dropped from $35 to about $25 pipe. And he said the pipe is a friggin' octagon! As such, your fingers have a variety of surfaces to explore when looking for the best grip. The weight lends itself to subtle changes in the pressure on the load, resulting in more successful and subtle shading. You can rotate it and get thicker or thinner lines. It's brass, so it smells like brass and makes your hand smell the same. But then again, it's brass, so theโ€ฆ

Excellent, compact, durable, attractive and practical Rod Holder

5.6mm rods have become my favorite tools for shading/rendering patterns, rough sketches and some textures. This Kaweco Sketch Up pencil holder is handy, durable and compact. Being a metal, it heats up with use. This line holder does not roll as much as others because of the shape. The clutch design and all-metal construction ensure a very long service life. I found a local trophy shop that can engrave a brass barrel, handy for gifts or personalization/identification. Other brands of 5.6mmโ€ฆ
