Birds like it good for food

I had better experiences with this product than some of the other reviewers. The local bird population here in southern New England seems to love it and the feeding station is regularly visited by northern cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers and a variety of smaller birds.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

TOO MUCH MILLET!: Grocery

This is the first packet of Kaytee seeds I've ever bought that has a lot of millet (those round seeds). I've found that birds waste it looking for the best ingredients. I hope Kaytee doesn't follow the example of other bird seed companies and use millet as their main filler to boost their profits.

Good seed for birds. in Essen

This is good bird seed. Get many different species of finches and some titmice. There was a bright red cardinal I had never seen. It was really cool. He would hop around the patio and snatch larger seeds that other birds would drop from the feeder. This seed definitely attracts the birds and they will come back for sure. There was also a female cardinal and some doves eating the seeds that fell on the ground. After about a month, the seeds are eaten fairly quickly. Sometimes it's fun to watch…

Among the best bird seeds I've used

It's not cheap but it was top quality and the wild birds in my area love it. I'll try one of the less expensive mixes like the Wagner mix and let you know how it compares. Update 02/14/2021: Bought a pack of Wagner's Greatest Variety Mix. See photo for a comparison of what's included in Kaytee and Wagner bags. Wagner seeds have larger seeds like peanuts and sunflowers. In terms of quality, they are in no way inferior to Kaytee seeds, only the mixture is different. Birds here (Georgia) are…

Kaytee's Protein Blend: Obesity Guaranteed

UPDATE: Birds Now Eat Seeds! Not just the regulars, but a few guys I hadn't seen before. I guess the squirrels were spreading the word in the woods that my seed tasted good. LAUGH OUT LOUD. Definitely buy this seed and give it time. Have a seed and they will come. I thought the birds would eat it. The only creatures that will touch it are my gray and black squirrels. I live with robins, blue jays, cardinals, ravens, wrens, hawks, owls and a few other small birds. Nobody eats this seed. LAUGH…

Our favorite mix that birds have enjoyed for years.

I was surprised when I bought this from Revain for a few dollars less than my local store but my native birds definitely like this mix. It has a lovely cherry scent that seems to really attract birds, and while the mix isn't without dirt, we find that the waste is very low and spoils quickly. We have blue jays, eagles, cardinals, juncos, tits, nuthatches, various finches, pink-chested hawfinches, a few different woodpeckers, a few sparrows (which mostly stay away from larger birds) and the…
