Great device! best in notebook accessories

This is a great little device! I've used it in two ways: to connect an LED monitor to my desktop as a second display via USB and also to connect to a laptop. For some reason the laptop couldn't "see" the LCD monitor connected to the VGA port, but it works fine with this adapter connected to the USB port. ALWAYS install the software first. I forgot on the laptop and had to delete what was autoloading when trying to connect and work. Once I removed that and installed as instructed, everything was

Pros
  • No external power supply required. USB Powered Laptop
Cons
  • Expensive

So I used an old version of these Kensington adapters and they work great. However, this one was just awful. I have two settings. My home setup is a desktop with two 27" IPS monitors using either VGA or HDMI. I need this adapter to connect to KVM so I can use dual screens. The adapter worked for my desktop with HDMI to DVI, but it kept turning on and off. A monitor with an older version of this adapter did not. Then I applied it to my dual screen VGA monitors and it just didn't work. My return…

Works well, some issues still need to be resolved.

USB3 speed is good for feedback speed. I usually read/encode on a monitor, so I don't really notice the speed (also, I've never had a USB 2.0 adapter). You can watch something animated on it, like South Park, and see almost no lag (movies have a noticeable lag). ). OpenGL isn't supported, so some things don't work fully, e.g. B. You cannot use iPhoto on this monitor. Applications like Stream don't work with it, nor can it set a color profile. This is a known issue, not sure if they have plans…

Pros
  • USB to DVI connection and DVI->VGAA adapter included
Cons

Great, and make sure you download the latest drivers

I used this with my Macbook Air running Mavericks so I could simultaneously connect a monitor via the monitor port and then display on the projector while keeping the laptop itself closed. I'm a teacher and I got tired of opening and closing the lid, swapping cables and keys while using the projector and disliked the potential cumulative physical wear and tear that could occur. This adapter is exactly what I wanted. It works well with the computer and the connected projector is treated like…

Great for my use case - make sure you know what to expect

Works fine on my Macbook Pro. I had an old USB 2 version of this thing, it's obviously the USB 3 version. My MBP 13" can only drive two monitors, so my third monitor is connected via a Kensington adapter at 1920 x 1080. It's great for static and slow-changing windows. It's a little choppy for watching videos, but could be for the occasional one Use may be fine. The mouse around the 3rd monitor is quite choppy - I couldn't work on a presentation on the 3rd monitor for example. It's been a few…
