Be careful when disassembling.

Be careful when disassembling. Spring can leave you. You have to tighten the spring. This is a perfect complement to the original keychain. Everything fits perfectly. It comes with a blank key. If the problem is with the metal part of your old key, you will need to remove the end cap and reinstall the old key. It is easily removed with a tiny prick or a small blunt nail and a light hammer. Just insert the old key in reverse order. The whole process took maybe 10 minutes and was very easy…

Pros
  • High test scores for hold and durability

Discover your possibilities

My 2014 Ford Fusion has a broken key. After two different dealers offered $250 for a replacement, I decided to go this route. When I got the new shell, I removed the transponder board from my old device and installed it in the new shell. He then removed the toggle switch from the new device, slowly pulled the push pin out of the device, and unplugged it. I installed my old key in the new block and reinstalled the toggle switch in the housing. Taken outside and tested with no problems. The car…

Works perfect. Difficult to remove and insert the pin that holds the key

Well everything fits, the buttons work, everything is fine. My previous key broke (used car) and upon disassembly it turned out that the previous owner super glued everything together so I had to disassemble it. From there it was easy to transfer the insides. But I had trouble replacing my key with a raw key. I had to find a nail small enough for the hole and then shave off the tip. I then used a nail and hammered in the pin holding the fake key in place. My key didn't quite fit in the hole…

Not bad for such a price

so it works as advertised I've been using it for about a month or two. This is a direct replacement, take the battery and loosen the tiny screw, then simply slide the plastic wedge between the grooves while the key is out and pull it snug but not too hard out of your car. Now just replant everything in place and you're done. The only thing I don't like is that it feels rather plasticky, I mean it still works but doesn't have the polymer content that you get from the original. Also, my lock…

Great if you need a new key case and an extra key to cut out

I have a 2013 Fusion (don't listen to the other reviewer who said it was two piece, I don't get it) that you still have to take it apart) and I had a cracked key body as well as generally very sensitive to opening and closing the key. Things that didn't come with the key fob are a set screw to hold the two pieces together, a rubber grommet to waterproof the battery compartment, and a rubber cover for the circuit board inside the key (which runs between the buttons and the circuitry)…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

The perfect replacement!

First off, let me say that the person who left the review titled "Doesn't work for my 2013 Fusion" should be removed. They obviously didn't know what they were doing. If you look at the picture in their review, this person did not remove the rear battery cover from the new key fob, nor did they separate the main body of the original. On the left of the attached image you can see the two halves of the replacement key fob separated, here is the circuit board. On the right you can see their…
