These batteries are expected to last 2 years. Mine is 3 months late. I have noticed that others have experienced the same general trend with these batteries. You're guaranteed, but with what you'll have to go through, it's not worth it.

Same with other reviews. Save time, stress and money by replacing your old Kidde AA batteries with new Kidde batteries. I tried six different regular and rechargeable AA batteries but the alarm kept reporting a low battery level. Either don't buy Kidde devices that require AA batteries, or buy Kidde AA batteries. not 24 months.

I've tried countless batteries in my smoke/CO2 kidde alarms after the supplied "power supply" batteries were empty. Literally after 18 hours, he kept complaining about the low battery. Energizer, Rechargeables, Duracell, etc all had issues. You MUST buy those special AA batteries. In the end I just gave up and replaced them all with 10 year old Kiddes "No Problem" batteries because buying these specialty batteries is expensive, annoying, wasteful and pointless.
