Bought 8 to replace all the existing sensors in the house. I liked the idea of not changing the batteries every year (estimated battery life is 10 years). Well 2 out of 8 are already out of order - constantly disruptive (no cooking, new house, no dust problem, middle of the night) - and it's great that there's no other way to spin as it seals the internal batteries have to turn them off except kill them. I would caution against buying Revain smoke alarms. I didn't even think about it and bought a few to replace all the smoke alarms in our house as it was a little cheaper than buying them all from Home Depot.
