"Purr " for Litter

I have 10 cats and two of them have UTIs. Instead of running to the vet for "pearls" that are being sold at insane prices, I found this urine collection system. After the first use I bought more to have on hand. So if I think one of my kids has a problem, I can take a sample and take it to the vet without any fuss or additional vet costs. I have trouble with the sample tube that comes with it as I can never put the lid on, so I bought a screw top sample cup. My cats have no problem with it. I…

Makes collecting a breeze!

I was also skeptical about the size of this bag. I mean sir. He's pretty small. Again, it only took me a few ml of urine to go to the vet. Could you use 2 bags? Of course, but it is not required. I poured this into a new cat box about 12" x 9" and it created a very thin layer on the floor. I leveled it as best I could and waited for the magic to kick in. When I checked the box the next morning there was a fair amount of urine on the edge of the cat box where the sand had all reflected. I could…

Collection success - even if it takes forever

I was worried my cat would use the litter, especially after I noticed it had a slight "chemical" smell. I tossed two bags into the new little trash can, then rubbed some of his own "trash" onto the rim. I hid his old box and made it his only chance to pee. Luckily I heard him doing his thing at 5:15 (ugh) in the box. I jumped out of bed and yes I saw big puddles yes! One suggestion would be to provide customers with a larger dropper - it took an excruciatingly long time to apply the amount I…

Works but very expensive

I always have at least 5 bags on hand because our cat has cystitis and our cat has recurring urinary tract infections. Both cats have large litter boxes and neither will use the box unless they have two bags of this sand in them. This is a very expensive alternative. However, I can't sneak up on her to take a sample, and I don't want the vet sticking a needle in her bladder to take a sample. It stresses her. I've had issues with my last two orders, one of which was the packages being ripped…

Expensive but works like magic.

This 2lb KIT4CAT Hydrophobic Filled Sandcat Urine Sampling Kit was quite expensive for a small bag of fill material. But it has a specific purpose, which is to take a urine sample from my cat to the vet. After seeing how small one bag is, I ordered a second one. Later I had the brilliant idea of using something smaller than a regular tray. I used a plastic basket that was larger than a shoe box but smaller than a tray. I would be fine with a cheaper box. I use toilet pads, but you don't need…

Worked well for my cat but is missing dropper/bottle

In general, sand works well for collecting urine. My cat was a bit confused but used it anyway. I just hung out with my cat most of the night, watching and waiting for her and then immediately collecting the urine. The sand repelled urine well and was easy to collect. Cons are too expensive and if your cat is fussy, consider buying two bags to make the litter deeper and more like its regular box (giving the total cost of $30 for a pee). Urine collection - for me it's worth it though as it's…
