I always have at least 5 bags on hand because our cat has cystitis and our cat has recurring urinary tract infections. In general, sand works well for collecting urine. My cat was a bit confused but used it anyway. I just hung out with my cat most of the night, watching and waiting for her and then immediately collecting the urine. The sand repelled urine well and was easy to collect. Cons are too expensive and if your cat is fussy, consider buying two bags to make the litter deeper and more like its regular box (giving the total cost of $30 for a pee).
