sharp, versatile tool

With a strong, well-polished, symmetrically curved blade and a nice, strong, comfortable handle (with an oval cross-section), my SK2 hook knife helps me cut wooden spoons, ladles, cups, kuksa, bowls and many more other items with a rounded concavity greater than 1.5 inches in diameter.

Pros
  • Design for Comfort Spoon Knife: The handle is made of oak and finished with natural linseed oil. Ergonomic design helps you cut longer without hand fatigue.
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly

Very fair price for a quality product.

We climbed into the cutting spoons. I have ordered several items from this company. Everything is very well done! Excellent grips, very comfortable to grip and under pressure when using. The steel is strong, very sharp and holds an edge thanks to an impressive number of threads. I glued a few strips of leather to a few pieces of pole of different sizes, and using a green sharpening rouge they re-sharpened with little effort.

Pros
  • Hook Knife from Europe: Everything from BeaverCraft brings you European quality from Europe's largest country - Ukraine.
Cons
  • Expensive

Better Than Him Mora

I also have Mora hook knives which I think are pretty good but this Beavercraft hook knife is actually better. The blade appears to be made from a heavier material, giving it a stronger and tougher feel. It also came well polished and razor sharp. The handle is made of a darker, denser wood than the Mora, but it is also slightly bulkier and heavier. It has a good shape but can be too bulky for those with small hands. Otherwise I consider it a better hook knife than the comparable Mora.

Pros
  • Spoon Knife Hooked Edge: The edge of our hooked knife is very sharp and strong to cut both softwoods and hardwoods like oak or walnut.
Cons
  • Discontinued
