I belong to a knitting group who knit for the reasons given in this book; basically mother bear. They gave out samples and I was so impressed that I bought a used Revain book. A really beautiful book and the stories touch your heart. I only wish I could knit for all the orphans in the world. The photography is great. When I received Knitting for the World: Making the World a Better Place, stitch by stitch, I expected the book to be smaller. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the book not only includes patterns for knitted charity items, but also stories of how they came to be, useful tips on how to contribute to charity work, and some contact information for charities associated with a specific cause are.
