Well I've used this tool a few times when replacing flat pads and it has stretched the tire bead. I got the impression that this is good, but not really necessary. I could use my hands just as quickly. However, I installed a brand new tire on my bike today and this is where this tool really excels. I used to be afraid to put on new tires. No longer. Some tires fit the rim without any problems. Some tires seem a few sizes too small and you dare to try them on!
