Favorite kitchen and dining knife

I've had this knife for about a year now. I use this to chop all my vegetables. I don't eat meat so I've never used it for that. But its unique shape and size make it a really great tool for finely slicing or peeling food. i totally love it

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Negative impression

One of the best knives I have

I bought two of these. Once for a friend and once for me. She loves hers. This is the one she goes to first when she's cutting something. This is also my first knife. It has become "razor sharp" and can be sharpened very well. Perfect balance too. Five stars!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Infuriates

If you're looking for a quality Japanese knife, keep looking.

Considering this knife only costs $20, it's hard to criticize because it's value for money. No knife in this price range would probably inspire me. The blade is stamped, the wood on the handle is raw. If you're looking for a quality Japanese knife, keep looking.

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Expensive

Wrong knife! Nakiri NOT Usuba! Again!

Knife in attractive packaging but not as advertised. He is specifically listed as Usuba. It's definitely Nakiri. The knife has a double bevel and the Nakiri lettering is clearly marked on the box. Update: I sent the first one back and got a replacement. Various labels on the box. The same knife. To be clear, both knives are good value for money. However, neither of them is Usuba, both are Nakiri.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not the best

It was worth it.

When I saw this knife I thought it would make a great addition to my kitchen. I was hoping this knife would be as good in real life as it is in the picture. Although it wasn't distorted in the photo (looks the same in person), I think my expectations were too high. It seems too easy and. good cheap. Also, I expected it to be a little smaller than it is. I will increase my budget and buy a higher quality product.

Pros
  • All positives
Cons
  • Minor flaws

no lol This knife is no sharper than the Global

I think I like this knife but I'm mainly here to correct what I saw in another review. I am the happy owner of several Global knives and this knife is absolutely no sharper than the Globals and can't even match them. My global knives are fine. This knife looks nice but to be honest the wood handle is a little rough/not quite smooth sanded and I was disappointed with the ergonomics (or lack thereof) of this knife while my Global G-5 paring knife (in the same Style - Nakiri ) is comfortable toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Will do

Spicy and enjoyable! on Usuba and Nakiri knives

Kotobuki Seki 6 1/2 inch Usuba knife (incisal edge). This knife is actually a nakiri (with a symmetrical double-edged blade with a double bevel). It's light and heavy at the same time. If you pick it up near the center of gravity (4cm in front of the handle), it's obvious that it's quite light. Lifted by the handle (which is 4 cm from the balance point), it seems powerful and heavy, but only for balance. The feeling of weight in a light knife evokes in me a sense of eagerness to get to workโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Discontinued
