Makes me look like a pro

Allows you to drill holes at the right angle. Worked great for a home computer desk project with the desk aprons attached. Very happy with the pocket holes and ease of use. The holes I made were in 3/4 pine board. Perfectly centered and the included screws are carefully tightened with an impact wrench. I'm not a carpenter but I'm sure it looks like I know what I'm doing or has given me some confidence!

Pros
  • Great construction

Amazing R3 light upgrade

I used the Kreg R3 light for years until I finally broke part of it. I decided it was time for an update even though I don't do much pocket hole carpentry. Holy cow, this device is way easier to use! Simply slide the workpiece into the fixture and pull the trigger to tighten. The trigger clamp holds the part securely enough for drilling. The only thing that would make it better would be if it had built in storage for a drill and screwdriver. (I know you can buy add-ons, but I'll probably make…

May not be long

I bought this and K4. I kept K4. What I didn't like so much: It only has 3 size settings. While the locking handle is pretty cool, it uses a friction ratchet of sorts to move and lock the thing. My experience with them is that once they wear out they wear out and then no longer have a secure closure. They seem cheaper than K4. Most likely, it is designed for a month beyond the warranty period. The K4 has a strong metal linkage to hold the shaft in place. The K4 has adjustments every 1/8 inch. I

No 1 " screws required for 1/2 " wood

This tool is pretty decent but overpriced for what it is. to find that they were too long for the 1/2" plywood project I bought the tool for. I had to order the 1" screws separately. I think for $100 there should be a test pack of 50 x 1" screws plus two more lengths. Also, the 1/2" plywood I use is actually 15/32" thick, and even 1" countersunk screws place the tip of the screws very close to the edge of the plywood. Hope they don't break through. I won't know until those 1" screws arrive…
