I love this knife! in Kitchen & Dining

The knife comes very sharp in a nice box and includes a blade guard if you don't have a block to put it in. The build quality is exceptional and has real weight. It really feels like a premium bread knife. It's very durable, feels solid in my hand and cuts my sourdough like butter!

Pros
  • Still satisfied
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Excellent quality bread knife

Excellent quality and sharp knife! Far better than the budget knife I had before. The damask pattern is very elegant and pleasant to look at. The handle has a natural ergonomic feel when held. Excellent. I plan to restock my knife collection with other knives from this brand.

  • The list will be long.

Best Bread Knife Ever

My old bread knife got so dull it couldn't cut butter let alone bread. I was shocked at the prices of brand name knives. This one looked like it could be good and I was surprised at how good it was. He cuts bread like butter. It's also great for slicing hard cheeses and other hard foods. I am very happy with it.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • For Seniors

RIPS BREAD good for cutlery and knife accessories

Knife looks sharp but tears instead of cutting bread. It's been almost a year and I'm ready to give up. I sharpened my old handle serrated bread knife and it cuts much better. This was my first time trying to sharpen a serrated knife and I used a diamond sharpener I bought from Revain for this. It worked great. So I will take this KYOKU to Goodwill and donate it.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Long wait

A good start in the kitchen and dining room

Got the knife. The excellent presentation upon opening gave the feeling of being premium. Cut off the main rib which I bought with no problem. I washed the knife shortly after use and put it aside. The next day I went to clean it up and noticed rust in the text engraved on both sides of the knife. Rust on the sides after one use and one wash. For real? I removed the rust from the text. It worked when cutting meat, but rusting after a wash should NOT be an issue/issue.

Pros
  • Noble design
Cons
  • Sad equipment

Not Damascus Steel: Bread Knife

I bought this to replace a 10 year old knife and how glad I am that I chose this brand. Great quality and my old hands love the ergonomics. Update, the pattern on the blade seems wrong to me to be real damascus steel. The pattern looks like it was laser engraved and is not a random pattern if the original forging method was used. The company's responses are vague, to say the least. Update: I received an email from clipordolover@gmail.com offering $50 to change my rating. I answered in two…

Luxury quality bread knife

Great knife. Well balanced with a comfortable grip. Sharp as a razor. My only concern is that the tines are only sharpened on one side, which only allows for straight cuts when slicing from the right side of the loaf/vegetable. So basically a knife for the right hand. If you hold it in your left hand and cut a slice from the left side of the loaf, the blade tends to move. This isn't critical though, you can still control it if you're careful. The knife comes with a thin plastic sheath, but it…

Great knife for crusty bread.

Damn, this knife is incredibly sharp. As I unrolled it with the plastic sheath still on the blade, I slammed my finger on the jagged edge and lost the skin. I bought this knife to slice the crusty sourdough bread I bake. I have several other highly rated bread knives, but they almost always tend to rip the loaf apart, especially when trying to slice it thinly. This knife cuts through top crust, soft crumbs and hard bottom crust with almost no effort and absolutely no tearing, even when cutting…

cuts bread best in cutlery and knife accessories

Summary: I love this knife. Detailed test report: I have been using a Henckles bread knife for around 20 years. It slices bread very well, except for two things: it was a bit difficult to bake really crusty bread because the scallops are tender, so even though the knife is sharp, there's nothing to pierce the crust until the cut begins . And Hankles is bolt upright. This means that when you get to the crust of the bread you have to keep the knife perfectly on the cutting board and even have to…
