Just like the original.

When I told my son not to lose this adapter and then promptly did it myself, I took the opportunity to save about $20 and bought this one. It is exactly the same as the OEM version. I thought it might be less efficient or something, but it isn't - it charges the car at the same price as the OEM part.

Save a few bucks on Tesla's price

Works similar to the Tesla adapter except it fits snugly on the 1772. It takes a lot of force to release - more than Tesla's. Fits nicely on the charging port too, but that's a good thing. If you tend to forget your adapter this is a good buy. I hope they make a working combo adapter soon.

The fit is too tight. I can not use.

Fits unacceptably tight into my Tesla Model S charging port. Feels like plugging or unplugging could break the Tesla receiver. The adapter supplied by Tesla fits much better. I tried to fix it by applying a small amount of lithium grease to the outside surface but it didn't improve the situation at all. I cannot use this product.

It just didn't work Electric vehicle charger

Other people have complained about the tight fit. I didn't have this problem, but it still didn't work - the Tesla charge port was flashing orange or red and complaining that the cable wasn't fully plugged in. It also created this weird situation twice. A situation where the charging port is blocked and trying to unlock it through the application didn't work, which has literally never happened before. Avoid.

Perfect add-on adapter for home use

Before Tesla, I drove another electric car that used SAE J1772 and I installed Level 2 at home. When I upgraded to Tesla, it turned out that SAE J1772 was not compatible . Although Tesla already came with an adapter. I wanted to buy an extra one so I don't have to attach and detach it every time. Also, I didn't want to drive to work and forget the adapter at home. Buying an extra one was easy. I find it easier to live knowing I have one at home and always have the other in my car.

Weird Noise and Warning Light

My car made a strange clicking noise when trying to use this adapter. I tried 3 times. Here are my results: 1) I heard clicks and the charge indicator was amber and blinking on Tesla Model 3. Unplugged, made sure connection was solid, and plugged back in. The original adapter that I got with my car. Confirmed there was no clicking sound and on my Tesla the light went from blue to green immediately. Removed it and plugged in this adapter. 3) I heard clicking noises and a yellow light flashed on…

Not suitable for 2018 Model X!

Not all reviewers have had the same experience, but this adapter definitely doesn't fit my 2018 Model X. As one reviewer who posted and commented on the picture said, the shape of this adapter is slightly different from the original Tesla charger. When I plug it in, the car keeps showing "charge port latch not engaged" and the charging current is only 16 amps. This is confirmed by the charge port on the vehicle flashing orange. As I continued to insert the adapter, the device indicated that the
