I have purchased several of these kits to connect up to 3 16ft reels of tape together using the Hitlights solderless connectors. (Great, but don't count on reusing.) I used a Torchstar DMX decoder to control them from the lighting desk. I cut off the end of the power supply that came with the ribbon and used it to power the DMX decoder. Landed on the boat. I like the fully enclosed LED lights and not just the case. Cut the LED straight in half. I've already used soldered and soldered ends for connections. Connect these ends to the solder control box and heat shrink tubing. Butt connectors were also useful in certain stages.
