Ordered this morning and received before lunch. A beautiful knife with a very sharp edge. Effortlessly cuts meat. I will update my review after a few uses. So far I'm loving the damask look on the blade. Update: love it, I lost the tip of my thumb, my wife cut herself with the back of the blade and bled profusely. I've used it dozens of times for beef, pork, chicken, and veggies. I haven't sharpened it yet and it's still razor sharp.

These knives are cheap so I didn't expect anything special. However, I was expecting them to be at least close to the images provided. In fairness, it should be noted that the grip, pin and pattern are almost the same. However, there is absolutely no contrast with the damask pattern as it looks more like watermarks than alternating layers. If you forge and print patterns, at least make them look better or more like what is advertised. Very disappointed, going back and buying something better…

I don't know who gave these knives five stars but I suspect paid reviewers, This knife has three stars at best definitely NOT Damascus steel. The word DAMASCUS must be removed from all descriptions of this knife. "Damascus" is a sticker on the blade, it's not even laser engraved. Great knife! Stays hot until I had to use it on some salmon. it warns you not to use on the bones! Got the stone on it very quickly, resharpened immediately, no problems with this knife except things stick to it a little more than I thought just because it pointed to the grooves to prevent sticking. Extremely sharp in edges and appearance. I don't know enough about knife making to confirm or refute the Damascus claim. I got a much, much cheaper "damascus" knife and it was only damascus style and the engraving looked and felt very different than that knife. To me, this isn't a confirmation of the Damascus claim, but it certainly speaks volumes about the quality of this knife.
