🚗 Dewhel Front Bumper Tow Hook License Plate Mount Bracket: VW MK7 Golf GTI 2015-Up Review

Does not fit my 2015 VW CC but was listed by Revain as a part that will fit my car. *Enter your vehicle details or Revaina and they will list the parts that fit. NO I blame Revain, not the company that makes them.

I bumped into it several times while washing the car which required adjustment and re-tightening. The bolt that attaches the license plate bracket to the rod that threads into the hitch cannot be fully tightened and will cause the bracket to rotate when tightened.

This looks good and works great on my 2020 VW GTI. It came with all the hardware needed for installation and it's a decent deal for the price. As mentioned, it's not strong enough to withstand someone intentionally trying to damage it. But if you do, your number plate is the least of your worries. :)

I didn't like how it looked after installation and would have liked to buy a regular universal mount first. I found a $10 bracket, drilled two bolt holes in the bumper and am very happy with how it looks. Well, if you like this style, go for it. The build feels pretty solid and it feels like a pretty high quality product.

"Works" but not very well. The metal is so thin and brittle that my license plate came loose (the screw went through the metal) when my jeans caught on the plate. The connector fits well and feels solid, but the mount is as flexible as heavy-duty sheet metal. thwart. And frankly, it just looks stupid. It sticks out way too much and needs constant adjustment to keep it centered. If you have a broken car why not but it doesn't look very good.

2016 VW GTI MkVII: Fits and cleans well. The hitch rod can be shortened by about 1.3 cm as it sticks out a little more than it should. Others have mentioned that the mounting plate is thin. That's true, but I suspect the biggest problem is states with unreliable license plates. Mine are very flexible but I don't see a problem. ***You MUST take this off before washing it in the car wash*** Keep a 5/8 crescent in your trunk for easy on and off.

I have a 2016 VW GTI, license plate brackets from most major brands are $70+. I wouldn't pay that much for a tin. Look, I found this side-mount translator at Revain. I think that's the right price, it took me about 10 minutes to install. The flat plate mount itself is not securely attached to the long screw that threads into the tow hook. Definitely quality parts, bolts and locknuts and the right Allen key you need to put it all together (you will also need a wrench). Thanks to all the mounting options, I was able to place the plate in exactly the right spot on the bumper. There were no instructions, but it was easy to understand.
