🔦 Black SOLA Dive 800 S/F Underwater Light by Light & Motion Review

This is a great light for night diving. One of the guys I dive with has already ordered one and a few others are considering buying one. It's great to have flood and spot options. One of my diving friends told me that after flashing with it, it was difficult for my eyes to adjust to his light. I can highly recommend this lamp.

Very good value! Item arrived in good condition and works great. When I received this order it accidentally came with a pistol grip instead of the expected strap. I contacted the seller and a few hours later I got an answer that they would fix everything and send me the strap immediately. Very good customer service - it was a pleasure working with them.

This flashlight is expensive but worth the money. Excellent light when immersed. Excellent burn time. Underwater, this is probably one of the best flashlights in terms of visibility. I don't like the indicators - the LED is green, amber, red, blinking which should be fine, except I found it to be under 75% amber to be distracting - I think it should go up to 50 % be green and then change colors. Bought as a main light instead of a canister. The only downside is the battery life, but I've used the 400 lumen setting more often, which lasts around 2 hours. The wide angle beam is excellent - an even white light that really illuminates wrecks and other overhead areas. The headlight alignment isn't that good - more of a yellow beam. I used this Sola dive light on a recent trip to Ambon, Indonesia and was very happy with it. Instead of investing in an expensive and bulky underwater strobe, I got it with a wrist strap and just angled my arm for optimal lighting. (Please don't attempt this unless you have very good buoyancy and are falling on the reef and your subject!) Edit: Light & Motion took good care of us and fixed the broken flashlight/replaced the charger for $0. In the two years that have passed since then, both have been steadfast.
