Quality name and product

This helmet works very well and is comfortable. A brand matters when it comes to something as important as the ability to see.

Pros
  • Great construction

Very satisfied Good fit for head protection

As a novice welder, I tried to balance quality and price with this helmet. I've been using the helmet for about six months and it's been a great investment, perfect for my needs.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Great upgrade! best safety and protection

My old 1840 was 6 years old and died a week ago, read about the 4c lens and decided to use it again, couldn't believe how cool the new one is looks is, and the hat is really comfortable. Definitely a step up in performance and cost.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Auto dark didn't work at all

If you need a reliable lens hood, look elsewhere. Auto dimming didn't work after trying all the settings and asking my welding instructor to do his best. I replaced the battery only to get the same results. After reading some reviews, others had the same problem. I returned it and rushed to the Lincoln Viking Hood. Take care of your eyes and buy something better.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Speed

Amazed by the transparency

To be honest I didn't find anything I didn't like about this hood. I did a lot of research because a good cooker hood is an investment. Today was my first day of using it all day. I was impressed with the clarity of the 4C technology, the comfort of the headgear and love the external grind mode. In addition, a flashing light inside reminds you to switch back before continuing to weld. Fantastic hood all around. I love Lincoln Vikings!

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • A lot

The first helmet I bought after taking welding class in high school. Auto.dim is required. He creates a world of differences by seeing where to start. To keep a straight line. Fast Safe Dimming also has a spark sensor for looping. It's terrible for the eyes. Clear as the sun. I have experienced. So grind, put on a helmet. And drop the welds.

Pros
  • Headguard
Cons
  • Flimsy

Efficient and comfortable welding helmet

Overall I am very satisfied with this device. My level of experience is an amateur welder. I mainly use this helmet for MIG welding. This replaced an auto-dimming Hobart helmet that I had to replace. Visibility before welding is good but you need a very well lit area to see with the clarity shown in the product photos. Adjustment between welds is very convenient. I usually wear it over a welder's hat. The combination turned out to be very useful. It will sit between uses for weeks and has no…

  • Personal protective equipment
Cons
  • No gun

Day and night difference with old model 1840

Just wanted to buy a new 4C lens for my old model 1840 and found that buying a brand new one is a cheaper alternative. I have to say it doesn't even look like the same lens hood. The new style headgear is more than comfortable and sits farther from the lens so my nose, which is larger than usual, doesn't smudge it. Flipping back to headgear no longer causes pain in the back of the head. The hue darkens very quickly compared to the old 1840's style. Potholders used to be a guessing game in dark…

Pros
  • Welding helmets
Cons
  • Only available in black
