It's worth it. - Yarn

I have tried different yarns and this is by far the best. Red is dead on red. A blend of cotton and acrylic works great. I made a scarf for my husband and he loves it. He said it was really warm and soft. The blend gives it good stretch and texture. I will probably only buy this yarn from now on. I think it's real! I have girls who want me to teach them how to crochet. I advised them to buy Cotton-Ease, they will love working with it.

Very good yarn good for yarn

I tend towards Lion Brand Cotton-Ease Yarn. It is a blend of 50% cotton and 50% acrylic, which makes the project very comfortable to work with. Cotton gives strength and shape, while acrylic gives the product a soft hand. The color was not as deep purple as in the sample. It's more pink with hints of lavender. So far I have knitted 3 blouses for girls aged 7 and 8. They put this yarn through serious testing every day and this yarn is holding up very well. I haven't washed these sweaters yet. I…

Great yarn! for knitting and crocheting

I really liked this yarn, it's very soft for a cotton yarn perfect for a baby blanket I knitted! Pros: Soft yarn, especially for cotton. , when the strands that make up the yarn can diverge a bit, but that's not too often. What's actually worse is that some of the skeins I bought actually had threads tangled somewhere in the middle: I believe that was where the yarn connected to make the skein longer, but it led to really strange entanglements. Essentially, this means trimming out the small…

Stone Gray Cotton-Ease Yarn

Several reviews of Lion Brand Cotton-Ease complained about segmented and knotted strands. I recently bought 12 skeins (four different colors) of this yarn. Of the six skeins I used, one gray skein had multiple knots connecting the yarn. Maybe I was lucky that I only had one skein that wasn't a perfect skein. Yarn is expensive when buying enough for multiple projects. If I have to cut enough yarn to make knots at the end of the row, I may have to buy another skein to make up for the loss. My…

Pros
  • Cotton-Ease - An all-purpose soft worsted cotton yarn
Cons
  • Doubtful

I usually crochet in 100% acrylic or blends but my husband LOVES cotton so I bought a few skeins around to make him a blanket. I prefer acrylic crochet because I love how acrylic rebounds after being pulled for crochet stitches. Other cotton yarns I've used for larger projects (Handicrafter, Sugar, and Cream) stretched a little while crocheting and then stretched like crazy during use - a throw I made for my husband a few years ago was made into a giant napkin and is now unusable. So I thought…
