Makes amazing drying balls

I bought this yarn in natural and brown and they are really felty. I have many dry balls and have given them away. In fact, I bought ten packs of brown yarn and a few natural yarns. Brown feels better and looks very pretty. I put six dryer balls in a bag. Everyone loves them and holds them well. I've been using my own dryballs for over a year. I have nine kids and that's a lot of laundry. The dryer balls are in excellent condition and do the job perfectly. I will continue to buy this yarn forโ€ฆ

Lower quality than the yarn they made a few years ago

I bought a skein of this yarn 4 years ago. I sat at it until I found the right project that required more of this yarn. I know that identical batches of dyes were a pipe dream; The design allows me to swap panels between the two to at least minimize the differences. I was expecting it to be a little different, but this "new" fish wool is far from what I expected. This new skein is the reason people despise wool. It's spiky, relatively dry, so fuzzy and split. It's also a bit thinner - moreโ€ฆ

Serves its purpose

weight was better than worsted, slightly higher than DK weight. So the yarn is not very thick, but it worked very well for my purpose! The yarn is not soft and I probably won't knit anything with it, except for mittens. Mine was full of spiky black fibers. Maybe it was part of the design but I didn't like it. This was not a breach of the terms of the contract. For mittens, this is AMAZING. I used it to knit a wool lining for someone's leather gloves. I told him they should repel water and keepโ€ฆ

Great yarn, strange prices.

I love working with this yarn. I only used 100% solid colors because the reviews say all but one tweed (maple I think, which I can't find) contains bits of stiff polyester/nylon. Although the yarn isn't as dense as I'd like it to be, I didn't have the split colors I used at all. Not only does the yarn work well, it's actually quite soft for a 100% wool yarn, and it feels great and takes color really well. However, since it's 100% wool, I always take any 100% natural animal fiber yarn and placeโ€ฆ

Good yarn for a blanket!

I've found out I'll be working in Boston later this year and I've made it my goal to knit a blanket before I leave so my boyfriend can take it while I do am gone . I'm using Lion Brand Fishing Wool in natural (ivory) and the Afghan Lover's Knot pattern. The recommended needle size for this yarn is 5-5.5mm, but I decided to go up to 6.0mm needle size to increase stitch spacing and hopefully make the quilt less heavy in the long run. So far, this yarn has been easy to work with. I understandโ€ฆ
