Not the best tool, but good for clamping in tight spaces. As others have noted, it doesn't close tight enough and the tool has some play. It's just not a great tool, but it's cheap. If you ever need it, do it. If you need it often, look elsewhere.

Poor design Too difficult to grip and the handles flex before the clip is compressed. Unfortunately I missed the return date by 2 days so I'm sticking with it. For an additional $10 you can get KNIPEX Tools - 10 99 i220 - Ear Clamp Pliers, Front and Side Jaws (1099i220). This is a great tool and very well made. Squeezing the clamps together wasn't difficult.

They work great. They are tapered so their front face is angled and once you start crimping you push more and stop crimping. Saved me hours and hours. I'd have to create a tool to crimp my stem straight, or take out the post to use a different style of perpendicular. People say to use wire cutters in these situations, but these cutters won't push the crimp down like they should. . Since the OEM kit was $80 to make ONE side of the rack, I'd like to use it to properly install the clamps.

As other reviewers have noted, this tool requires gorilla strength to make really good picks. If you are trying to get that power with your hands, DO IT WRONG. Clamp vises to the ends of the handlebars if you did everything by hand. If you're using it to make CV CV boots, you probably have the wrong tooling as well.
