Big time saver on tools and equipment

A nifty little tool that's worth every penny you pay for it. GM V6 engines are notorious for failing intake manifold gaskets. Replacement requires removing the pushrods and loosening the rocker arm, which can damage the rocker arm studs (steel in soft aluminum). This tool allows the rocker to be raised and the ram removed without loosening the rocker pins. This tool works faster and eliminates the headache of removing threads when loosening or tightening rocker arm bolts. Without him I would…

Too weak: Steering and suspension tools

I have a 1998 Buick Century and I replace the head gasket before it leaks (I think it will). This tool is a great idea, but on my 3.1 V-6 the bottom teeth of the tool on the first rocker arm are bent. I work on a farm with a well stocked shop and was able to weld a new "fork" to the bottom of a thicker steel tool. Then the upper frame of the tool began to bend and twist after the 3rd valve rocker arm. Then I straightened it and welded a thick support to the top of the tool. It's a good idea and

2003 Chevy Malibu 3100 - Bought to replace IMG.

I've read some reviews about it flexing with use. I don't understand how. This is a fairly thick metal construction that lends itself very well to removing the pushrod. I can only assume that someone misused it. Due to the pressure of the spring, you may want to wrap a small towel or something else around the handle. Unless you make a living fixing cars, your hands can get a little sore after pulling out the tappets. My girlfriend helped me - I lifted the seesaw and she removed/installed the…

Excellent tool for the money

Really made replacing the lower intake manifold gaskets on my 3.4 liter engine quick. This tool requires some technique to avoid breaking fingers and bending pushrods. First, make sure you push the lever up exactly in the plane of the rocker arm. Otherwise, it will slip and the seesaw will slam. 2. Slowly raise the tool, only lifting until the slide is out of its seat. 3. Do not try to remove the pusher from the side. There is a gap for threading the pusher through the tool as the rocker…

Will not fit GM 3.1L V6 - Will not fit

I bought this tool to save time on the lower intake manifold gasket on a 95 vintage 3.1 liter V6 engine. The ads claimed it would work with that displacement, but in the end it wasn't worth it. The lower fingers of the instrument were too short, and the tip of the instrument was not far enough away to even grasp the see-saw. I could only lift a few of the rockers far enough to remove the pusher, but usually the tool would violently slide off, causing me to nearly fly off. It was dangerous and…

Great tool! on Steering and Suspension Tool

Great tool for removing and replacing pushrods on GM 60 degree V6 engines (2.8, 3.1 and 3.4). Whether you're just making lower intake manifold gaskets or head gaskets, this tool is a must have. Let me explain why. The aluminum heads on these motors can damage the threads so easily. You really need to know what you're doing so you don't damage them. When reinstalling the rocker arms, if the lifters are already in place, you CAN manually rotate the crankshaft to ensure each valve you want to…
