One didn't work, the other exploded

Like many, I bought them after they came up with the recommendation to replace the standard 3D printer fan (24V) with Noctua (12V). Everything perfectly connected, switched on. The display showed the expected input voltage. But I could not change the output voltage. No matter how long I turned this screw. Didn't move a bit. Thought I'd try another one as it was here and I only needed one. Connected exactly the same. It exploded almost immediately. I do not know why. Put the other one back…

Perfect for my Ender 5

I bought these for my Ender 5 to connect 3 12v leds to my hotend. My machine only has 24V outputs so I used them to step the voltage down to the required 12V. What appealed to me the most were the screw terminals, not the others that required soldering. I don't mind soldering the whole thing, but I needed the ability to easily remove the LEDs from my setup if I wanted and they are perfect for that. Installation was easy enough and I was even able to find a model for a thing made specifically…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Hard to say

No/failed soldering on one

In the first module I checked the soldering points before trying. Immediately I noticed that the voltage input on one pin (the IN+ pin, top left pin in the picture) was completely missing solder and the other pin had a *very weak solder connection (IN-). I didn't need to explain why that's not good. Of the two packs I purchased, the second module appears to be physically fine. Luckily I only needed one and I can fix the solder joints but I don't have to. those connections that weren't soldered…

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
