My original lawnmower oil filter didn't move. Nothing I had on hand worked. I chose this because I wanted to be able to lock it in place and not use my limited arm strength when turning. Went like clockwork! I think it will come in handy for other household chores.

This worked great for what I needed it for. I now realize that this would have served me well in some other situations I have encountered in the past. A great addition to my vise tool collection. I prefer to use tools than my old, tired hands. You won't regret adding it to your toolbox.

Before I got this I had to use a screwdriver to poke through an overtightened oil filter. The 2018 MDX Oil Filter is in a terrible place. I had a KN filter with a nut on the end, but I couldn't use the socket due to the limited space between the filter and some sort of spacer or control lever (can't remember offhand at the moment). Thanks to this, I can easily grab and unscrew it.

I used it to remove the old oil filter and it had a good stranglehold. But it destroyed the filter canister, which is ok since I don't reuse it anyway. You can use this with different filter sizes. When I installed the new oil filter it got a little wrinkled and scratched the canister. You have to be very careful not to break the canisters. I ended up buying a cheap turnkey head from Walmart so I wouldn't have to worry about damaging the filters. I left it for other purposes.

The oil filter was ridiculously tight. I don't know if the previous service overhauled it, but I couldn't get at anything with a belt wrench. So I had to wait almost 48 hours for it to arrive on Revain Prime. If I fail, it would be a bad day. But after the fight I finally got it. Not without this wonderful tool. So worth the money. A definite step up from strap wrenches, but a lesson in who to take the car to for the next oil change!
