Why did I buy this when I could use free apps on my phone?

Oh my god, this is the bane of my existence. We ordered it and spent hours setting it up. WILL NOT WORK WITH YOUR PS4. It will turn it on, but you still need the remote control. After struggling with setup I spent two hours on the phone with tech support and they were very helpful. After the call he was still having trouble getting it to work properly. The lock screen option didn't go away after I changed the settings. It didn't integrate with my HTPC at all. All it does is turn on myโ€ฆ

Early glitches have been fixed with the latest firmware updates. Not perfect yet, but already good.

I have used Logitech's top quality universal remote controls for many years. Initially, they were extremely programmable with a terrible UI to customize them. Lately they've gone in the opposite direction. You can no longer control every detail and delay of every function on the remote, but the user interface makes setup much easier than before. For most people, this is a big improvement. For control-mad fans, the new restrictions are just a minor annoyance. Overall I really like this remoteโ€ฆ

Great remote with a big gap in home automation; Physical buttons cannot be programmed, only access to device or start/stop activity

Harmony Ultimate Home is a step in a long line of great Harmony remotes in my opinion. I've had several predecessors to Ultimate Home including 51's, two 880s, an 890 and now Ultimate Home. The remote itself feels more solid and cleaner. Buttons fell out on my previous 880 and 890 remotes and one button on the 510. This new design with a secure, soft rubber backing feels more durable. I don't think a drop will cause the button to be flung around the room and the rubber areas will probablyโ€ฆ

Love it! I downgraded the rating by one star. see changes

I have to say this remote control is fantastic. Setup was pretty easy. My previous remote was the Sony RM-AV3000, a highly customizable (and clunky) remote with macros and timers, but very difficult to program. I've found Logitech to be missing some of these features, but it might be possible to work around them, but I haven't figured out how. Since my last remote control was so versatile, I was very skeptical about any new technology. I think it took me about 2 hours to set up my firstโ€ฆ
