Quality product and easy installation

We had our house painted and needed a new stripe that would better match our new colors. It arrived quickly and was well packaged to ensure there was no damage. We had to shorten it by about two inches and it was easy to cut with a chainsaw but I think a hacksaw would have worked as well. The color is beautiful and as described. I also like the weather protection for an extra layer of protection.

Needed a drip on my door

My door has brushes underneath. I needed a dripper for heavy rain on a metal door. Water dripped into the armed forces. It worked great. Since the rubber strip wasn't touching anything, I even took it off. I cut off the flat part, turned it over so the thin edge was on top. Then I marked the screw holes and drilled small holes. As you can see from the photos it turned out to be the perfect rubber mounting gasket.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Basically OK but...

Loved this door brush stopper

I liked this door brush stopper until the black coating on the metal buckled and started to peel exposing the bright silver metal underneath. Our front door faces south and gets the sun most of the day, but during the winter rains we had a water leak under our front door so we bought this plug. It was and still is effective at draining water but now that the color has faded after only a few months it is irritating to the eyes and needs to be replaced. Damn

  • A year's trial

Very disappointed, can't stand the elements

I have bought several of these. The one under the covered porch (mounted to keep water out when I hose down the porch) works fine. However, the one on my balcony door gets the morning sun and is exposed to the elements. I live in Arizona so it's going to be hot. About 6 months after installation, the bronze coating was buckling and buckling. It's like they put a film on it - very strange. Not thrilled to have drilled through my expensive french door with a piece that I'm going to have to…

Simple and fundamentally effective

If you have an outward opening door, they're very useful for the price. We have installed on several doors including swing doors. They always fit well (assuming you can measure and cut the aluminum to fit the width of your door). If you have a swing door, the problem is that the rubber curls up as the door opens and closes, which allows more moisture to enter the sill. They retain some protection, but to a lesser degree than with swings, when the rubber drains water better when closed.

Pros
  • Thresholds
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Very good product, good for door hardware and locks

I bought 4 of these for my exterior doors. For the money they are great. I wish they protruded a bit more to provide even more rain protection. Ease of installation. They are dark. My doors are black and look great even without paint. You look black. The only issue I had was rain dripping out of a door after I installed it. The water came up to the edge of the drain plug and hit the rubber underneath and then ran under the door. I removed the rubber band and have had no problems since. Leaving…

Fixed uneven gap at bottom of door

My house has settled down a bit and after adjusting everything to make the door fit properly and eliminate the gaps where air was coming in and out, I had it I still have an uneven gap at the bottom of my door. The specific threshold on my door no longer has a suitable insert. When my door was closed at night, the light under my door was clearly visible, highlighting the wrong gap. I removed the old mist eliminator that was wrapped under the door and didn't fit inside or out, aligned this to…
