Very Well Made for Grease Guns

This is a very well made tool. The hardware and mechanism are solid and feel high quality. The rubber hose is made in Germany. It would be ideal if it also included a 3" or 4" hard extension to use in place of a hose, allowing the needle jet to be used with one hand. Edit: This gun uses a BSP thread, not the thread normally available in the US. This makes it difficult to find accessories etc. And I couldn't find an adapter! MacNaught doesn't offer them.

Pros
  • Few Competitors
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Fat injection for life

Fit and finish look great. The pump plunger has a roller tappet (like a roller cam) on the handle, so I seriously doubt you'll ever wear it out. The grease clutch has a fierce grip, even too much in some situations. Macnaught USA's customer support is second to none, they were very helpful in answering questions. Note that at the time of writing (December 2019) the gun is supplied with a BSP threaded braided hose. So if you're looking to upgrade to a domestic grease fitting, you'll need a BSP…

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Leaks, lots - very disappointing

Gun lubricates well, clutch is easy to grip. The problem is that so much grease seeps through the push rod that it has to wait for it to be forced out through the end cap past the stock before the stock can be retracted to the locked position. And it's not just a little bit of lube - it's a big part of the tube. Macnaught USA's customer service is excellent. They quickly sent me a replacement follower but it didn't get any better. This was done using two different tubes of Mystik JT-6 high…

Outlet fitting with new thread for connecting 1/8 NPT hoses.

The grease gun itself is well made. But the Australians used a 1/8 BSPT threaded outlet and hose on it. I don't know, maybe it works fine down there. But here in the States it's PITA. So I pulled out a handy set of taps and dies, changed the outlet threads to 1/8 NPT, and installed the spare 24" hose I already had. Now it's fixed for life. As I said, the pistol is fine and well made, easy to use with one hand. But due to the hassle of getting the metric thread outlet and hose, I would recommend

Professional Grease Gun

I've worked without a grease gun for a while, but I needed one to lubricate the pivot on my fifth wheel and trailer spring saddles. After checking out the deals from auto parts chains and big department stores, I wasn't impressed. I found recommendations for this McNaught on some tool forums. I could pay $15-20 more than a cheap gun, but I knew I would save myself the hassle of bad fittings and grease spilling down the barrel. The McNaught is well finished with well routed and quality seals…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Good, but not the best

Pacifier turner defective - does not come off

The product looks high quality, but not well thought out. They might think this is something they could do right. The first directions need terms and a list of details. Second, the instructions are confusing and not detailed enough. I had to figure out how to even insert the hose into the pusher, which is essentially a hose holder. "Follower" what kind of term is that. Either way, it's an industry issue. Had to watch the video and this company doesn't have the instructional video they need…
