Highly recommended! on filters

Great product! The water in my aquarium was very yellow. I did 35% water changes weekly and after two days my water turned yellow again. My first photo is what my aquarium looked like when I first used this skimmer. My second picture is what the skimmer put together in 18 hours. The collection tank was at least half full every morning with nasty tawny water and food scraps. In the last photo my pool looked after 2 weeks. I continued doing weekly water changes but reduced them to 10%. The…

Non-stop micro-bubbles and overflow

I'm telling you I wanted to enjoy it. Compact, pretty and good price or so I thought. Compact and quite yes. Good price if not for POS. NONSTOP microbubbles that should stop after shrinking. It's been over a month and still the same. The adjustment knob literally does nothing. Constantly fills the cup in seconds and had to make a hose to flow back into the tank. This is not how a skimmer should work. I don't know if the one I received is defective or if the others who gave such a good review…

Good space saver skimmer

It fits nicely in my 55 gallon aquarium. I ordered this skimmer because I wanted to use the middle compartment of the sump to fit the refugium. It takes a few days to work properly. Once it builds up enough protein on the vesicles, it begins to work as intended. Very easy to set up. The company has already added an overflow to the box, which comes in handy when you're on the go and worried about a potential spill. Note that the performance of skimmers depends on the water quality in your…

Amazing Skimmer HOB

For under $60 I didn't know what to expect. For my nano reef aquarium I previously tried the Fluval PS2 Mini which turned out to be junk. I needed some HOB for my lag free reef cymbals with a small footprint but this really worked. I tried Macro Aqua M-50 and it exceeded my expectations. It is very easy to set up, does not rush at the water level and starts skimming immediately. Now I have two of these, one for 13.5 gallons and the other for 37 gallons and they both work fine. I noticed greater

Small skimmer that can

Bought for a seven year old 75 gallon tank with no sump. Arrived quickly after months of being sold out. Assembly was a little intimidating, the pump assembly is tight to the body and I was afraid some components would snap. I then had to take it apart as it fit onto the plastic lip of my tank. After assembly, the pump started pumping water and bubbles as it should. When the flow was fully open, the bowl began to fill with clean water from the reservoir. Before going to bed, I lowered the inlet

Works great with a little tweaking and patience.

update 3: return to 5 stars. After some trial and error tweaking, this skimmer works great and helps solve my nitrate problem. I'm not touching it now. Update 2: The microbubble problem went away after a day or two, so it remains a mystery as to why this happened. The device works flawlessly and produces a lot of skimming when I'm not fiddling with it. Still I recommend. Addendum: I'm deducting a star because after a few weeks of use, the skimmer began to spit a plethora of microbubbles into…

New Arrival Aquarium Pumps and Filters

This popped up when I searched "nano skimmer" among many other results. I have a 1980's 29 gallon hex tank that I have dusted off and turned into a corner reef tank. I'm already familiar with the unreliable SeaClone 100, which for a while was the only real option for a cheap, self-pump skimmer. I was half expecting to have to settle for one of the old-fashioned basswood Airstone models, such as the popular one for the BioCube. Although this is a newbie, I relied solely on the other positive…

May not be suitable for living room

FUNCTION: Looks good at first glance. Adjustments to water flow and air intake are easy to make with small changes. Produces a lot of lean matte. I use it on 50 gallons with no sump and it doesn't seem to lag behind. I've been using it for a few months now. I make a fairly wet skimmer, although it works well with a dry skimmer too. NOISE: Skimmer pump noise seems acceptable, although noticeable. Mostly the sound of bubbles forming, not the sound of the pump. MICROBUBBLES: I've read other…
