Retains all factory settings!

Installed in a 2008 Buick Enclave with standard audio, the HRN-RR-GM5 Wiring Harness (sold separately) works fine with the idatalink Maestro RR module. All steering wheel controls are functional and programmable, the On Star system can be started, the car's XM antenna seems to work with the aftermarket head unit, I can view the vehicle stats on my display and the door/turn signal horn has been restored. I am using this kit with a Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX head unit. The only criticism of the module…

More features than factory

I installed the Maestro RR when I upgraded the standard radios in my 2012 Highlander to a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX. I used to use the AXXESS steering wheel control interface. The Maestro RR combines a steering wheel control interface with an OBDII monitor, giving me the ability to see CAN bus information and, more importantly, individual tire pressures on the head unit screen. From the factory, the car's dashboard only has a low tire pressure indicator, and you have to guess which tire sensor is…

Great Product: Lighting and Electrical

Just installed a new stereo and added it to the mix. This device supports steering wheel controls, and if your car and stereo are compatible, it will add additional functions. I installed Pioneer MVH1400NEX and it works great. allows me to program additional functions on the steering wheel and also allows me to see certain sensors that my car supports. Connects to OBD2 connector to get this data. The available sensors vary depending on the vehicle. You need to install the program on your…

The only way to connect a new radio to a modern car!

Doesn't quite fit my car, but does more than stated. Not only did I keep normal operation (door delay, use and control of the factory booster, steering wheel controls, etc.), but it shows the radio station and some information on the in-dash display, which it claims it doesn't. In addition, you can program it so that the buttons on the steering wheel perform more than one function (e.g. hold down the volume and turn off the radio). The icing on the cake was the ability to connect it to the ODB…

Must have for the latest car models!

Incredible thing. I installed this after a local (in the Detroit area) radio installation site messed up my truck quite a bit. I have a 2009 F-150 with a Pioneer Carplay receiver and everything works as it should. Volume and search function perfectly from the steering wheel. Additionally, the dashboard now shows the date and time rather than the "built Ford hard drive" as was the case with the previous setup. You must be using Windows to set this thing up. I downloaded a trial version of…

A requirement for those installing a better radio in an old car

First of all, I'm very tech savvy. So it wasn't difficult to understand and connect. If you've never done electrical work before, you might want someone to do it for you or help you. You first connect the device to a PC or laptop and then program the device using the website with vehicle and radio information [including serial number]. This allows the vehicle to properly communicate with the radio. Even with a pre-assembled wiring harness, you must solder or crimp the radio wiring to the…

Restrictions on Pioneer head units.

Pioneer make great radios - I've put them in my last 3 cars. However, this is my first time using it with an iDatalink Maestro computer and I would like to mention a few limitations. My setup is SuburbanPioneer 501EXMaestro MRRMaestro GM5+Backup Cam. For some incomprehensible reason, iDatalink requires you to connect your minicomputer to the AUX audio jack (in addition to the data port) on the Pioneer's rear panel. This means you cannot use this port for any other purpose. I called their…

Apparently it's hits and misses. defect in my car.

Tried to use this in my 2016 F150 after successfully using it in my 2013 Mustang and F150. problems from the start. Could NEVER get SYNC to work with it. The "downloaded instructions" from their website were useless and non-existent for actual installation and use. Spent weeks bouncing back and forth between their tech support and the Ford dealership, each pointing fingers at the other. Their tech support told me their module can't cause this as many other F150 people had no problems with my…

works perfectly! First class customer service/tech support available

This interface, along with the correct seat belts, allowed me to retain all of the factory features on my 2008 Silverado 2500HD LTZ. It must be flashed or programmed with a computer for your specific vehicle and factory options. The website does a good job of helping you with the setup, showing you the drop down menu options specific to your vehicle and all the different factory options available. Uses real photos of factory bikes to ensure you choose the right options. It also asks for the…
