The design is chunky and clunky

Waited and waited for the new to come out. I received it on Monday and sent it back the next day. It was larger than the 800 series and got blocked a few times in one day. I will wait for the next design to come out. I do not know when. Or I'll take a closer look at the Garmin Nuvi. This also does not yet allow you to download travel information to your computer. Why can't the good guys for the car download waypoints? I can't find the right one. I would prefer 800 or 860 from this model.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No instructions

Spastic GPS on Portable GPS Navigators

The best thing about the Magellean 3000T is the large screen. In fact, the touchscreen feature decides not to work. You can sit there and touch, rub, thrash; but in vain. I was fed up with this whole procedure and ready to send it back to Revane. I called Magellan's helpdesk first (the phone number was hard to find); Apparently go to the diagnostics page and touch each touchscreen icon. If you hear a click, everything is fine. After all, that works most of the time. A heck of a lot of hassle…

excellent value for money, the best among portable GPS modules

The main reason I bought this GPS is that it comes with a Sirf III chip. This is the latest GPS chip on the market that makes reception much easier even in a crowded city. The hype is true because I can even get a reception at my house. This is one of the cheapest devices from major GPS companies (Garmin, Magellan, Tomtom) that have this chip. I only received this device today but felt I should comment as some are for silly reasons. The interface is clear, the screen is the brightest I've seen…

  • Useful for more than intended purpose

Very disappointing, lousy tech support, stay away!

This RoadMate 3000T is my third Magellan product I have owned and by far the most disappointing. I expect good quality products like my original Magellan GPS 315 which has worked great for many years since my first purchase. In this particular case, the 3000T not only comes with old maps, but often "blocked" making the product unusable. I expected this to be an obvious deficiency that Magellan would handle professionally, courteously and without issue. Unfortunately my experience to date has…

This device works fine with the latest firmware update

See the update at the bottom of this post. I bought this unit, a Magellan RoadMate 3050T which is a 3000T but with a traffic information receiver. For what I paid for this device and its features I think it's a very good deal. The suction cup mount on the windshield works well, but I wish it was a little stiffer. The GPS can bounce up and down a bit on bumpy roads. When I installed the device and wanted to turn it on for the first time, I thought I had a butt. You need to hold the power button…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
