Good Budget Trainer

First of all, I'm not a professional athlete. I mountain bike a lot in the summer, but I always fall behind in training in the winter. Especially during the pandemic, I needed something to get me moving. I don't want to spend more than $1,000 on an exercise bike that I don't use often, so I decided to give this one a try. I've really liked it so far and decided to leave after closing the returns window. It was packaged very well and installation was a simple task. I calibrated a twist down and…

Pros
  • Designed for home use, this turbo trainer is much quieter than wheeled bike trainers. With a noise level of only 60 dB, you can use it in homes without noise pollution.

Unbelievable Price Direct Drive Trainer

I tried several wheels on running shoes and they all had to come back because of the insane noise they make. I wanted a direct drive, but the cheapest option I found was $750 for the Tacx Flux S. So this $300 thing is an amazing deal. Resistance changes depending on class by shifting up or down. It's definitely not that pleasant, but I'll be tackling the smart features any day now. Assembling the device itself was easy. Loading the cartridge was new to me so it took a little longer, but that's…

Pros
  • Smooth pedaling and a great choice for beginner bikers. A moment of inertia of 50,000 kg*mm² ensures a realistic driving experience, even in the living room.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great Budget Direct Drive Exercise Bike

This was my first purchase of an exercise bike. I was considering trainers for their price but then came across this direct drive trainer which is about the same price as the top rated trainers. I've never heard of Magene brand, but it seems to be a popular brand in China. The unit is very solidly built and installation was easy. I really like the simple design, it goes well with the look of my bike. Magene apparently makes bike trainers for Wahoo, but Wahoo probably wouldn't want you to know…

Pros
  • Convert your bike into an exercise bike in minutes, then fold for easy storage. Disc brake and thru-axle compatible, thru-axle adapter included. XDR hubs for 12-speed cassettes must be purchased separately in our shop.
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model
