This flashlight is a game changer for a small set of flashlights

I have used the standard version of this flashlight on my emergency medical harness (EMS) for years. It was good and could take a beating. But when I switched to this LED version, I was amazed. This little guy lights up the entire ambulance with a bright, brilliant white light. On site, I can identify mailbox numbers and street signs and localize people 50 meters away. It's over an inch longer than the old non-LED one, but fits in the same nylon holster. A word of caution, do not use this to…

Unreliable - Security

This is the second LED Mini Maglite I've bought. When it works it's very powerful and a great little flashlight. Unfortunately, the first has a problem with the light turning on and off. I can basically get it to work, but it's not reliable at all. I thought I might have dropped it or something, so maybe it was my fault. I decided to go ahead and get a new one and use the other one as a backup. This one has the same problem as the first. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can turn the…

Mini Supernova in your hands.

My job makes me very picky about flashlights. I can wear out a standard Mini Mag in 6 months. I'm tired of clicking the old fashioned Mini Mag to make it work, or taking it apart and fixing the problem only to have it back a few days later. This shit was when I needed it most. By the time you've paid for outbound shipping and the required Maglite handling fee, you're almost at the cost of a new one. So I decided to switch to LEDs. I can't comment on durability yet as I haven't used it that…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Requires an electrical outlet

Like your old Mini Mag LED but brighter.

My old Mini Mag LED died after about 9 years of 4 days use. I immediately went in search of a replacement Mini Mag, maybe a lighter one. I saw this Pro version, but I didn't immediately like the price. So I made the mistake of ordering a cheaper LED flashlight that was brighter and used an 18650 battery. Of course it was brighter than my old Mini Mag LED but it has a button on the bottom which I immediately recognized as one great thing stopped. The only problem is that there is no way to stop…

Don't look in the flashlight with your left eye

That's - as you say - interesting. Life is full of compromises. This little creature is a classic example. You can't get a device that does "everything" very well. LED flashlights have become a quantum leap over the old incandescent bulbs. Lightbulbs won their race. The intensity has reached its limit. LEDs have changed the rules of the game. They immediately surpassed the intensity of incandescent bulbs - and as LEDs, their lifespan increased by about six times. It's a plateau for a while…
