Good quality small tripod

Probably limited by its size but it suits me. My camera has a strap that attaches to the tripod mount. This little jig allows me to place the camera where it would otherwise (due to the shape of the strap) roll around on the tabletop or floor. Also suitable for synchronous recordings of my wife and me. And it's small enough that I keep it attached to the camera all the time.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Some flaws

Pretty Guy: Tripod Heads

I use this mic tripod on my Fujifilm XT-1 with a 35mm f2.0 lens. It can withstand a lot more, the leg springs are very strong but not to the point where they are uncomfortable to open and close. It barely protrudes from the bottom of the camera and never bothers putting the camera in a pocket. All metal parts that come into contact with the camera are nicely covered with soft-touch rubber. Highly recommended. The best investment in travel photography.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Expensive

Great tool that I never knew I needed all the time.

Where was it many years ago? I understood this from the name of the manufacturer. That's very pleasant. Legs WILL slip if too much weight is put on them, so make sure you choose the right model for your needs. I wanted to take a smaller one but the price is so close. When this came out I thought I had the wrong model because it is very small. The device turned out to be smaller than I expected. But it works! I use it on my Smooth Q. What a great combination. Small enough to be out of the way…

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Makes me angry

The way it is done you have 2 legs in front and 1 in back or 1 in front and 2 in back. I put my zoom lens 2 feet forward on a bridge camera and it works great. however, the 1 on the left always slides a little (of course it also slides when I put it in front of it). My camera weighs 750g. Not bad overall, but not necessarily better than the Microjobi equivalent. A slightly stronger hind leg would have been nice.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Smaller than Platipod, works just as well, love it

I love this little unobtrusive mini tripod. When folded it is so small that I always leave it on. I have several other small tripods but they either need to be removed to remove the camera or leave the ball head in place and just remove the rest of the small tripod. I find this an annoying movement, but I also hate it when something is sticking out of the bottom of the camera as it doesn't fit in my small mirrorless bag. This little bead is so flat that it fits perfectly and doesn't even get…

So good that I immediately bought a second one.

I use this with my mirrorless GH4. Ideal for time-lapse photography at parties. Put a wide angle lens on your camera and mount it on a bookshelf or somewhere far away and pop it. I've added a quick mount adapter plate to make this quick and easy without messing around with a screw. It works but in camera and photo mode

You can only tighten the tripod screw and the stand will still rotate if you move it too far. If you're soft it will stay in place, but if your feet are springy simply opening or closing the device can cause your base to move. In addition, there is no extra hole for installing an optional 1/4" tripod mount and it is not compatible with Acra. So if you think about it, you need to take it off if you want to use a real tripod. This is a problem as I often use full size tripods. It's a neat little…

MAY work for your DSLR setup, depends on your style!

I have this for my 80D, not sure if it will support my larger lenses. It works for some lenses! There is absolutely no problem supporting my 80D with a 24mm STM or 35mm f2 IS lens, they are small enough for this tripod to work. However, with a large lens like the 17-55 f2.8, this translates to mixed performance as the sheer weight of the lens allows it to GRASP to the front. I have no issues with the build quality, the legs are very solid and the overall metal and plastic construction seems to…
