Serious algae problem good for fish and aquatic animals

I bought this item for my 20 gallon aquarium. Unfortunately this caused a major algae problem in my aquarium - after a few days the water turned completely green and the algae completely covered every inch of this decoration. I had to change the filter in the aquarium every 3-5 days it was that bad (these filters should last a month). I took it out of the tank and gave it a thorough cleaning, causing the paint to come off. I was hoping that the algae wouldn't be that strong after cleaning, but…

Loved it until it went into my tank

I never write a review but felt the need to return to this purchase in February. I read other reviews about this artificial mangrove root in aquarium water. However, as with most reviews, I decided to give it a try, hoping it wouldn't happen to me. I was wrong. I really liked the look of this mangrove root in my aquarium. It drove me crazy, the tank felt full. However, I had problems with the water parameters and decided to completely empty the tank. When I pulled this out of the tank I smelled

Looks great but has a fungus problem

Unfortunately I have to give this decor two stars. First let me say that I really liked the look of it in the tank and the distance was perfect allowing my fish to swim through with ease. I read other reviews mentioning fungus and bad smells related to this product but I liked the look so much that I decided to buy it. When I received it, I soaked it in a bucket with 2 high doses of potassium permanganate to sterilize it for a few days, and then bathed in purified water for a long time. Two…

He created within himself a portal to hell.

I suppose if this jewelry was solid there wouldn't be so many bad reviews. I don't know how I missed the ratings on my first playthrough. They are unreliable so the reviews are bad. I took it out of the tank to clean it because the algae love it so much. Once I broke the vacuum holding the water in the jewelry, the gates of hell opened up for me and my poor fish. He was vomiting stinky, sulphurous, white goo all over the tank. I quickly removed most of this slime from the aquarium, and the…

I seem to like Mondo the King Midas/Red Devil, but .

The artificial decorations look more realistic, but you can easily tell it's fake. There are however small sharp edges from production but I just undercut them a bit and it came out like new. I think the packaging is very nice. The root was wrapped in styrofoam, placed in a box, then that box was placed in a large box filled with wrapping paper to keep it from moving. The mondo is about 10-12 inches long and very difficult to find. Things meant for a fish his size. I've had 12" and 15"…

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
