Good inexpensive fixture but the drill bit isn't a "star "

I had to make a dozen pocket holes for the magazine cabinet to simplify part of the design. I'm not sure how often I'll be using pocket holes, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a mount. That fits the bill. It's very strong - I wasn't bothered by the clamping force I used. The biggest problem is that the drill didn't drill as cleanly. Of course, it was veneered plywood from the "big shop", but sometimes its remnants got in the way. When you do most of your woodworking with veneer…

Buy a thing! Then read my comment to know what to look out for.

I wish I could give this a 6! I love this pocket stamp. This is my first so I have no comparison. You need to get the hang of it, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be easy. I have two small complaints, but they are minor.1. Both sides are marked with dimensions that tell you how far to place the pocket hole from the tree. These two sides are NOT the same! One is for new holes and the other for existing projects. I learned this the hard way. If you don't install it properly, the screw will…

Revised review, worked fine until I broke it.

EDIT: I'm leaving my original review to show what happens if you scroll through something too quickly. So the device works as advertised and I have nothing to add that hasn't been covered by everyone else. What happened to me is that the magnet on the bottom picked up a small metal bracket from my workbench and held it in one of the drill guides. When trying to drill the drill broke. So yes it works great but be careful not to catch anything with the magnet. Seemed like a good buy until the…

Works, but not perfectly

So, while I think this is worth the money if you're into small or semi-fine carpentry work, a genuine Kreg tool is almost double the price of the best. My first problem was that even after adjusting the depth according to the instructions, the holes aren't deep enough. I had to use the 1 3/4" screw setting even though I used 1 1/4" screws. It doesn't matter much - you just need to determine the correct depth and not trust the markings on the mount. Second, the included drill bit is terrible…

Does the job just make sure you have a clamp and long screwdrivers

Have a tool for a specific project. Eventually the idea of the project matured and I started using the device. 18 holes later I think it's time to take some notes: very easy to use. Simply decide whether you want to work on an existing gusset or create a new connection. The slider on the front should be adjusted accordingly. The small arrow on the slider shows the scaling. Use it to adjust the template according to the thickness of the material. Then set the drill stop to the material thickness

Good quality and functionality for the price.

I had never used a pocket screwdriver before buying this one so I started at the bottom of the learning curve. The instructions that come with the tool are minimal, so I looked up a few YouTubes, did a few experiments with the crowbar, and pretty much got it. It's a nice, well-made little tool that works, but it can be confusing to the uninitiated, and the tool itself won't help you much. Specifically, there are scales on either side of the device that correspond to the thickness of the…
