Terrible design and engineering

Bought a padlock. Put on a strong pipe, insert the key, close and lock the box. A few short weeks later, and hey, the damn thing was peeled like a banana! Needless to say, replacing the door lock cost me $112. The problem is the dust/weather cover. If you pry it out there will be a good gap where you can insert a pry tool. Bam, unlocked, house/apartment key. Bad design! NEVER buy this lock!

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Discontinued

Definitely don't use this on keys that protect something valuable, especially your house! There are videos on the internet about how easy it is to pick this lock and it could happen to you. I can't stress this enough. Last night we were woken up by an intruder at our home cutting it off our main gate and opening it (probably following a simple google video with instructions) using the keys inside to enter our home. Luckily no one was hurt but trust me you never want to experience this situation

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Has been damaged

I hate that box with a lock.

Reasons why this lock box sucks: 1. It is difficult to open it. What you move your finger to open is difficult to maneuver when opening the box, especially when your fingers are cold.2. NOT weatherproof. While the box itself might not rust, it absolutely allows water to get in, so your keys will rust inside the box unless you put them in a small plastic bag. My keys rusted SO FAST.3. It does not match the normal door handle.4. The worst thing is that after only 4 months of existence and only…

Works well and seems durable. I use it for.

Works well and feels solid. I use it to store an extra set of house keys outside if needed. It fits securely on the handle of my sliding glass door. Not a single soul has ever touched him. As with all locks, including those on your front door, anything can be picked if someone chooses to. How secure is it, how secure is your door? How many near you is someone likely to try to hack? These are all factors that affect whether that lock is "secure". I use it now at my dad's house so the guardian…

DO NOT BUY THIS BOX WITH A LOCK! It is insecure and easily hacked!

I work in real estate and we used this safe for years until recently we were able to open it with the combination we had on file. For us it was really a mystery. We were about to cut it off the fence when I got the idea to google how to open this safe if I forgot the combo. My search IMMEDIATELY turned up several YouTube videos on how to pick this lock. All you need is a thin piece of metal. (It's shown below in the photo that accompanies this review.) Just out of curiosity, I tried it…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Long delivery

You will never be blocked again

I recently left my apartment to run an errand. As I walked out the door, I reached back and closed the handle from the inside like I'd done it a million times. I then slammed the door with one hand, reached out and patted my pocket with the other to make sure I had the keys, and was about a second late to get my keys on the other side of this locked house allow. Door. I bought this lock the next day. Hiding a spare key behind the front door is too risky these days. We've all seen movies and TV…

Works, but not great

This works for what I wanted, which is key storage for short-term guests, but it's far from ideal. Pros: Has a cover to protect the lever and combination dials from dirt and weather. The shackle's rubber coating prevents it from scratching the door and rattling when the door is opened or closed. I don't know if this is intentional, but the dust cover touches the dials when you close it, so the cover usually moves the dials, hiding your combination. Cons: The lever to open the door is recessed…
