This material holds up, but it's "dry." , both of which I love for their matte finish, medium hold and workability. I tried this one and it's really matte and strong, but it's also strong enough that my fingers can't comb through my hair after the product has been mixed. I have consistently used Short Sexy Hair Frenzy for years to add volume and direction to my hair. My biggest complaint is that it melts in the summer heat and stops working. Although Matterial feels completely different on your hand, it works very similarly to Frenzy, except it doesn't melt in the summer and you need even less to get the same effect. I recently discovered Matterial after using Reformer for years. I wanted to try Matterial's "extra matte" look versus Reformer's regular matte look, so I grabbed a jar.
