Sturdy aluminum platform

A very solid and well finished platform step with the small caveat that it has many scratches on the surface and a few small dents probably from the long sea voyage from China. The only reason this is a bit of an issue for me is because I mainly use it as a small desktop that I'll look at every day. But that's normal for what's in the price range.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good move for homeowners

Does the job. I'm not sure everything is set, but time will tell. It seems to flex more than it should with such a small footprint. I have a large aluminum work platform that seems to be more durable. Didn't disappoint in anything. The leg locks are flimsy but appear to work well. For the price it has served its purpose. I would probably buy it again if it wasn't replaced due to a fault.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Something different

Works great on my Silverado

I'm 5ft 9" and working on my truck is sometimes a problem. This gives me easy access to the engine compartment. I need to install shelves on both sides and this blocks access from the front. just don't deviate more than the middle of the motor or it could fly out from under you. Conveniently folds up and hangs on the wall when not in use. I weigh about 230 pounds and it carried my weight without flexing. Could probably handle 300 because I stepped on it while carrying an iron cylinder head with

VERY DANGEROUS AS A STEP

Very dangerous as a step stool. You can easily knock this thing over if your step isn't exactly centered on the platform. If you're moving horizontally at any speed and happen to get caught on the back edge of the chair, it will tip over almost every time. If you step on it from above, carry something (God forbid a child) and hook back on the very edge, it will tip over. As a platform, when used with very conscious movements that are more or less restricted from side to side, it is solid and…

  • Good but not great

Very cheap and thin. Doesn't hold 350 lbs as expected

I'm a tall guy (270 lbs) so I bought this particular step stool with more carrying capacity. As soon as I stood on the ladder, the top of the ladder buckled. The top of the stool has three extremely cheap/weak aluminum bars. If you're supporting your weight evenly on all three separate bars at once, you'll be fine, but if you put your weight 1/3 or 2/3 up, you'll feel it start to bend. All this assuming you're a big guy like me. If you're smaller this won't be a problem, but it will probably…

The ladder may tip over.

Good step stool. I weigh about 210 pounds and it supports the weight with no problem. However, this can be undone. If you walk to the side edge, the chair can tip toward you like a tidily wink. it happened to me He turned and I fell onto my back. I believe this was caused by setting the long side legs vertically, which created the opportunity for the stool to roll towards you unless you step directly on the center of the stool. Obviously stepping on the edge is wrong and I should have centered…
