Description of Maxxis Cop.Ardent TR: The Ultimate Unisex Adult Tire for Superior Performance

ARDENT RACE: The Ardent Race tire from Maxxis is ideally suited for technical XC race courses and endurance-length events. The center knobs are ramped to reduce rolling resistance, and the side knobs are angled and stepped to provide great biting traction in corners. 3C MAXXSPEED: Used primarily in cross country and enduro tires, the two compounds in the outer layer are specially formulated to reduce rolling resistance and optimize treadwear and traction. EXO: An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tires. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high. TUBELESS READY: Sealant-compatible rubber is used with a Tubeless Ready bead to securley lock to the rim with, or without, an innertube.

Excellent all-mountain tire.

Good mid-size tire with good grip. Mileage is tubeless front and rear. I once lost a bead at 12psi in a rough rocky area. Inflates easily with a hand pump. Rolls well too.

Pros
  • ARDENT RACE: The Maxxis Ardent Race tire is ideal for technical cross-country and endurance racing. The center lugs are sloped to reduce rolling resistance, while the side lugs are angled and offset to provide excellent cornering traction.
Cons
  • Safety

Great all-round tire

I mounted the Ardent Race on the front of the bike and connected the Maxxis Ikon to the rear. The Ardent grips well without sacrificing roll efficiency. For me a confidence-inspiring cross-country tire.

Pros
  • 3C MAXXSPEED. Mainly used in cross-country and enduro tires. Two compounds for the outer layer have been specially developed to reduce rolling resistance and optimize tread wear and traction.
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Great tire for cycling

I replaced my front tire with this one and was very happy with the replacement. (I used to have 2.2 Ikons front and rear, I still have rear.) With this front I feel like I have a little more grip in corners without noticing a change in rolling resistance at top speed. I feel more confident taking the corners at a little more speed than before. I only ride off-road when the trail is dry or sticky, so I have no idea how the grip is in other conditions. I definitely recommend this tire.

Pros
  • EXO: An extremely cut and abrasion resistant material that is applied to the sidewalls of some mountain tires. This dense weave is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring the tire's performance remains unaltered. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where cuts and sidewall abrasions are more likely.
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
