I bought this to drain my pool deck and didn't realize it needed other parts. I wanted something I could just plug and play. Be sure to read the entire product description. If you're looking for a pump that already has a cable attached, this isn't for you.

Works great! Although I use it in my 16 foot open bow boat I have used it at home as well. I attached alligator clips to the wires and hooked up a drain hose, got a 12 volt battery and use that to pump water to where I need it. In my boat, I connect the battery to the trolling motor with clamps.

Very happy with this purchase. I didn't realize how big it is, I have it on John's 14 foot boat and it pumps so much water that it looks like I could use it as a backup engine if my engine broke. I keep my boat in the water 24/7 and it rains a lot here in Florida. He was able to keep the boat afloat with no problems!

That idiot came just in time. It's been raining heavily here in Texas for the last few days and when I got home I found that one side of my boat was about to sink. I managed to install this thing fairly quickly and it leveled out in minutes. I will soon replace the pump with another closer.

I give this pump 5 stars for value for money. It looks like a sturdy little pump and is very quiet. I measured about 600 GPH pumping through 12 feet of corrugated washer drain hose with a stroke of about 4 feet. If installed on a boat with a smooth drain hose and only 12 inches high, it would likely be closer to the 1100 gallon per hour rated flow. I'm happy with 600 gph for the price.

Comparing this bilge pump to my "Rule", the old pump I'm replacing, the shaft that the impeller attaches to is highly magnetic, indicating that it is carbon steel or inferior steel is made of stainless steel. will.
