Too long and the spring won't stretch

I have a 1997 Ezgo TXT 36 volt. The shocks are over an inch longer than stock. After pulling the spring off to lower the tail far enough to install it, I found that the spring hit the axle before the bolt lined up with the mounting hole. If you flip it over it will fit on the end of the axle but the spring will hit the body.

Happy with results on dampers, struts and suspension

Easy installation wasn't exactly easy. But the shock is not to blame. It was slightly longer than the original and I didn't get a chance to compress the springs. I used a bottle jack to compress the shock and a heavy hammer to hammer it in. I had to quickly put the screw back on. Spent several hours trying. But then again, it's not the shock's fault. Happy with the end result

They will work but be warned

I have an '07 Ezgo with a small lift kit. They were painful to put on. One day they are very noisy. These things keep beeping! Once installed they are 3+ inches taller than stock. On my car they pushed the tie rod to the edge and now I have to order an extension cable because. With tight curves and large bumps, the wave flies out. For the rear end, place the dolly on the jack stands and lower the rear sections just down to the leaf spring and use the jack to raise the rear end to line it up. In

Good distance from the car to the tires!

The dampers were difficult to install by one person but I managed with a bit of physics. I would rate them 5 stars except there is no way to prevent the spool from slapping while moving so you have a spool slap sound with every small and large slap. It's a dull sound so I'll live with it. But it would be nice if there was a shim at the bottom to hold that lag and eliminate that friction. On the plus side, I have 1.5 inches of extra clearance over my 25-inch off-road tires. This, together with…

Very strong shocks, struts and suspension

Bought these for my 2006 EZGO TXT. I read that it was difficult for people to climb onto the front of the wagon. I have a pallet truck and just ordered a couple to see if they would fit. I've tried spring compressors and the springs didn't have room between the springs and shock absorbers to do this safely. I didn't want to take the front apart to get it working so I just put it on the back and got regular HD shocks for the front with no springs. I still had to loosen the rear leaf springs to…
