This is fantastic for an active 8 year old boy! He wore out his previous pair of tennis shoes in less than 2 months. This quality cannot be surpassed. My son loves the way they fit.

I bought this for my 6 year old and the shoe ripped on the upper where the fabric is. I thought Merrell shoes would last longer than normal children's shoes but was very disappointed with the quality of these shoes.

What I like: The shoe fits as expected, comes in half sizes, is waterproof, and has (at least for now) the Merrell durability I've come to expect from adult versions. Great for all 4 seasons for the active kid who is very tough on their shoes and has been known to break others within 2 weeks. I would definitely NOT recommend this product. We bought it for my son and it has to be thrown away after two months. The velcro on the top strap is completely worn out and falling apart. In addition, the outsole is made of solid foam and not rubber. As a result, the sole is slippery and non-slip and wears out very quickly. I expect better quality from a brand like Merrell. Very disappointed and embarrassed for Merrell that they put their name on this product.

My 10 year old wore them for over a week on our camping/hiking/fishing trip in Colorado. They held up well, keeping his feet dry (although we're not wading, we've been out in the rain and standing on the edge of rivers and lakes), and they were comfortable and easy to slip on and off to get in and out. I have bought several pairs of Merrill shoes for my grandson in the past. They have always been quality shoes to touch. This particular pair felt cheaper and didn't open up enough to comfortably fit your foot in the shoe. He uses them, but they're not as well made as they used to be. Disappointed.

These shoes look great but I ordered size W and they came as M. So disappointed. sent back. Wide shoes can be difficult to find so please don't advertise with W unless you actually have a W. Wasting my time and energy.

We ordered these for my 7 year old's school shoes. Shoes fit well BUT the sole of the shoe is starting to fall apart after a few months of wearing. Because of the dress code, he only wears these shoes to school. Now I have to order another pair but not Merrill's, this was the first and last time I will buy Merrill's for my kids.

These shoes look prettier than the picture because they are actually blue with silver and green instead of the gray as pictured. They fit my son well except they are a bit tight. So if your son has wide feet, they may not fit.

After indulging in a new pair of adult MOAB trainers, I decided to buy a new pair for my 11 year old son as well. She's worn Keens since she could walk and swears the new MOAB shoes are the most comfortable ever. She broke them after running about 20 miles in Glacier National Park, and blisters were not out of the question. Great shoes. Super comfortable. Yes, they are waterproof. She stepped straight into the icy stream and her foot stayed dry.

My kids love these sneakers. Instead of shoelaces, they have stretchy little things and in moderate rain your feet stay dry. Please note that they run small. My daughter has a 1.5 in Plae and a 3 in Merrell's.

These shoes didn't last very well. May's daughter has been wearing them daily for 6 months now and they need to be replaced. There are threads sticking out and the area around the toe is falling apart. I would not recommend it.
