Perfect new review in my review

Bought for hiking and we've been on 5 trips already and I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Our daughter loves them, they are comfortable for her and just what we needed.

Pros
  • Available in multiple sizes
Cons
  • May not have enough grip on a slippery track.

Cheap and defective

These shoes would have been great if it wasn't for the obvious flaw. The inserts came out right away and the elastic cord broke almost immediately. This is not up to usual Merrell standards.

Pros
  • Suitable for children learning to walk
Cons
  • May be uncomfortable to wear everyday when hiking.

Really wide fit

So far my 3 year old has been great. He has wide feet and a high instep, so finding the right shoes can be a challenge. We've ordered them in a wide range and they work great! They easily turn on and off on their own and seem very useful too. Would buy them again!

Pros
  • Suitable for both boys and girls
Cons
  • May cause blisters or other foot irritation on long hikes.

The best children's shoes!

These shoes fit my little one's wide feet perfectly! They are surprisingly easy to put on despite being large. The flexible sole allows my child to walk naturally. Some reviews have described poor water resistance, but that's not our experience. We live in PNW and this shoe has seen heavy rain and puddles. Feet haven't gotten wet yet. Thank you Merrell for a great pair of shoes!

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • So-so

Good quality shoes to match the shoes

I bought these on a whim as we were getting ready for the holiday and I thought my 17 month old daughter would be sweet if she had her own would have hiking shoes. These are really high quality shoes and they fit very well. She wore them on every terrain throughout our vacation and I truly believe they helped her walk more confidently on uneven surfaces. Now we still use her at home when she is outside and needs good traction. We definitely got our money's worth with them.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Perfect hiking shoe for the little hiker

Great shoe for my little hiker. After looking for hiking shoes for my 4 year old I felt smitten. I finally found them and was very impressed with them. They have amazing traction so she can climb rocks with her older siblings and not slip in the wet areas of our hikes. Now she takes these shoes mainly for all outdoor games. She says they are very comfortable and she can easily put them on. I haven't tested it for waterproofness yet, so I'm giving it 4 stars.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some cons

Comfortable walking shoes for kids!

I bought 2 pairs (one pair each for my daughter and son...both 2.5 years old). These shoes are adorable and perfect for PNW weather and kid hikes. I noticed that their regular shoes had no grip on the sole of the shoe, which made it easier for them to slip while walking, running, or playing on gravel/muddy trails. They're also waterproof for the occasional puddle or rain. I still use their wellies for rain but for wet ground...these boots are perfect!

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Damaged

We love her more than we thought!

I love it! We are always looking for more minimalistic and flexible shoes for my 3 year old son and they are great. I was concerned about the height of the shoe but that's not an issue and ends up offering more protection. My son has always liked them, he never complains of any discomfort and they seem to offer plenty of room in the sock which is a plus too! We are for shoes and clothing that simply work with you, are hardly noticeable and do not interfere with any activity. Overall very happy…

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Part broke after a few weeks of light wear

My feelings are mixed. They seem to fit my wide footed 2.5 year old well enough that he seems less awkward in them than other shoes, but he doesn't seem to like them at all. He's really trying to get rid of her. Maybe he just doesn't like heels, but he has poor ankle stability, so maybe they'll improve his stride and balance. I wish I knew if they really are uncomfortable, but he's too young to tell the truth and they leave no trace of discomfort. My main gripe is that one of the pieces of…
