Pioneer DEH-2400UB Easy Install in 2004 Subaru Forester

So glad I have this; This made it easier to fit the Pioneer DEH-2400UB into a 2004 Subaru Forestera (other than removing the car's center console trim). The wires were a decent size and in excellent shape. For those who don't know, the process is very simple. Your new radio should come with a wiring harness that connects to the rear. Connect these wires to this wire harness by soldering or crimping. Take out the old radio and disconnect the wiring harness. Fix this new one. Get one of these…

  • For 1993-94 Subaru Impreza

I have a nice Pioneer head unit for my 2005 Impreza WRX STI.

I got a good Pioneer radio for my 2005 Impreza WRX STI and bought this wiring harness to go with it. My lord, this thing simplifies installation. Do all the soldering on the beautiful table inside and just plug it into the car and you're done. The only thing I screwed up was the antenna power wire - I think it was blue. I figured it was just in case your car has one of those antennas that go in and out when you turn on the radio, so I didn't connect them at first. My radio reception was just…

No dimmer pin included

Time was running out so I ordered Scosche and Metra cables to make my own wiring harness to keep Navi HU on a 13 year old WRX by inserting a subwoofer. As warned on the NASIOC forums, none of them included pin 7 "Dimmer Switch" while I was hoping at least one of them would. If you are using an aftermarket HU this is not a problem. If you want to keep it stock you will need to take one apart and put a new wire/pin in it.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • No power

Large seat belt adapter

I have a 2001 Subaru Legacy GT (sedan) and wanted to put my old Kenwood deck on the car. This fits perfectly with the factory plug! The back of the packaging also states what each color represents (which also states on the cables). I never used some cables (dimmer, amplifier and power antenna). Just keep in mind that this is not completely plug and play. You need to connect the wires by either crimping or soldering them together. I went out and bought a wire stripper/crimping tool and a small…

Worked perfectly in my 2006 Subaru Forester

So according to Metra this is a must have for any Subaru since 1990 (not just 93-94 Impreza). I installed it on my 2006 Forester (with only one issue NOT related to this wiring harness). So this item worked simply and beautifully and is perfect for installing a Pioneer CD receiver. The hardest part was learning how to disassemble the Subaru dashboard to get out the old radio; I found out how beautiful it is thanks to some YouTube videos (thanks to those who sent them!). The only "trick" I used…
