Excellent Quality Hips Polystyrene for 3D Printing

The Hips Polystyrene is a versatile material that can be used in 3D printing with ease. It is durable and creates precise objects with clean lines and a smooth finish. The material is perfect for industrial and scientific applications, as it withstands high levels of heat and pressure. However, it may be slightly more expensive than other options on the market. Overall, this product is an excellent investment for those looking to create high-quality 3D prints.

Pros
  • Great for prototyping and creating models due to its low cost and lightweight properties.
Cons
  • Not as durable or impact-resistant as other types of plastics, making it unsuitable for certain applications where strength is critical.

Doesn't fit well in Prusa i3 mk3 MMU

Keeps getting stuck in the top feed of the MMU, making it unusable as a support material for this 3D printer. Even using it in a print as a test, I never went above 2mm Z thickness before experiencing jams. I have to disassemble the top MMU to get the filament out as it's half broken.

Pros
  • Consumables for 3D printing
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

Too fragile - so useless

The filament arrived well packaged and with desiccant. I printed a direct HIPS print and it was sloppy and the filament broke mid-print. I threw the filament in the dryer, after 12 hours I felt it and thought everything was fine, put it in the dryer and started printing again. As soon as the thread approached room temperature, it began to break. Now it went through a second treatment at an even higher temperature, I heated the printer case to 40°C, started another print and it broke after 10…

Pros
  • 3D printing filament
Cons
  • I don't remember
