As this was bought as a Christmas present well before Christmas I am unfortunately unable to return it. When my wife opened it, we were looking in the box for a keyboard. What is called "font cover" is a keyboard! This is not included and costs about $150 extra. Not a big deal, but the real problem is that the on-screen keyboard doesn't work most of the time and requires a reboot to work again (Yes, Microsoft!). After googling this issue I came across a forum where everyone is frustrated with…

Great little computer. Not a very good tablet

Ok, interesting product. I am very surprised at the performance of this machine as a laptop. It's fast. The battery life is excellent. He is responsive and will take care of anything I throw at him. What bothers me a little are the ports. HDMI is not available without a docking station or any adapter. OK, I think that's fair. This is too small for full size ports. But the price of the dock is silly and still limits you. The keyboard is surprisingly good. I use the arrows a lot and they are…

Surface Pro NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH WINDOWS 10 PRO

Of course it's my fault for not reading the ad carefully enough. You have Windows 10 Home Edition installed, which means you cannot join them to a domain. Of course, the word HOME is nowhere on the first page of the ad. You must carefully read the product description at the bottom of the page. Normally I wouldn't miss a thing, but when you spend 20 minutes looking for the best deal and browsing through 30+ options, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that this is a home OS and not a pro . live…

Prepare to be disappointed

1.- Prepare to be disappointed, the keyboard disappears every time you press a key. Your support could be worse. If you look for this problem, it goes in circles. 2.- No manual, no online video instructions, it seems the mickey mouse operation is amazing, you should basically listen and watch a lay video to get the solution. 3.- They try to control you with their services and emails. just like google, apple etc. they are fighting for control and we are right in the middle of it. You can get…

Great for business, study, bad for gaming.

So last year we bought this for just over $800 for my son's online school. All bells and whistles. Keyboard, pen and durable case. The i5 architecture you'll find on the surface is different from what you'll find on desktop models and was designed with power efficiency in mind. It's terrible for games. Period. I mean, there are games that are 15-20 years old that don't play well on either surface. My 3 year old Celeron desktop kills these units in the gaming department. However, this device…

Just a great unit

The picture is fantastic, the sound is clear and loud, no distortion. The build quality is excellent and looks and feels like a premium product. The computer is very fast, the battery lasts all day, it rarely gets hot and it is completely silent since the Core i5 is fanless.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

No more Dell or HP laptops

I've always thought of laptops as disposable items. If they start causing trouble for kids in college, just create another one. No waiting for repairs. Laptops have become so unreliable that they don't even last a year. You are done. Three of my kids now have these Surface Pros and they all love them. They aren't assembled with the cheapest components, so they cost more. However, they are designed to work together, dissipate heat well and last a long time. If you are interested in art, choose…
