Not working - Radio

I've had it for 5 months now and on several occasions I was out when the weather alarm went off or I was asleep and thought I couldn't hear it. I've never heard of it working and was wondering if it even worked, but it's been a quiet summer. The tests went well, the districts were programmed correctly, all possible glitches were eliminated. This is a paperweight. This morning my phone went off with a flash flood warning. Never a beep from the weather radio. That does not work. It never worked…

Stop warning Southwest Florida is a PROBLEM.

I don't know what the problem is but I bought this to replace a five year old Midland SAME radio of the same model. Suddenly the old one stopped sending alerts so I figured something was wrong with it. Now the new one doesn't work. Broadcasts are clear as a bell, but there are also no warnings or 10 days of no warnings. Yes, I've set it up correctly, and I've set up alerts for absolutely everything and nothing. No light, nothing. 13-year-old Oregon Scientific is still chugging with warnings…

Sounds like crap so far.

Now that we live in a tornado lane, my girlfriend wanted one of them to hear local weather alerts when storms are approaching, but there was a problem. She couldn't get him to step in clearly. When plugged into the wall, the RFI (radio frequency interference) was brutal, to the point where the device was useless. When the device was unplugged and the batteries were running low, everything was fine, but still pretty clunky. So what was wrong? After playing around with it, I found that the…

Do not buy! for Portable AV

DO NOT BUY unless you want to be woken up to see a tornado. No warning. CLOCK. Contrary to the description, this device does NOT have any custom alerts. That would be a different model. This model does not have a menu to set events to disable some alerts. You're stuck with presets that contain tornado clocks for some stupid reason. Why do you have to wake up to see a tornado? It doesn't look like you're doing anything with the clock in the middle of the night. Other than lying awake claiming…

Excellent weather and emergency alerts monitor

Excellent weather and emergency alerts monitor. The biggest pain, and hopefully there are other units that have solved this problem. For some reason Midland engineers have created a product that will alert you to this fact if you don't receive an alert within 10 days. Yes! There's an on-screen message, and if that's not enough, there's an annoying tone that plays every 10 minutes until you reset it. OK, let me push the button. BUT NO. You have to turn it off, take out the batteries if you use…

Starts beeping, cannot be turned off

This weather radio model, WR120, has a bug that affects people who live in an area that experiences thunderstorms every day (e.g. Central Florida) . The downside is that if the radio doesn't receive NOAA's weekly test alert within two weeks, it will start beeping. The only way to stop the beeping is to turn off the radio and remove the batteries. Then you have to reprogram it. NOAA normally broadcasts a weekly test alert every Wednesday, however NOAA does not broadcast this test alert when…

Clam Shell Radio is the EZ version, great radio!

So far so good! When I ordered this product I was a bit worried that the version I might receive wouldn't have the option to choose what type of alarm you want to wake up. I ordered the Clam Shell version of this radio and am happy to report the following: The box said WR-120 and a sticker said it was a WR-120C. This bothered me because I thought it might NOT be the EZ version that has an alarm select feature. Upon opening it I was pleased to see that the model written on the back of the radio…

Excellent weather radio, especially at this price!

I was very skeptical about ordering this radio from Amazon. The reason for this is that the product page lists the wr120ez model, but some people have stated that they had to order the clamshell version to actually get the wr120ez, or that they didn't get the ez version at all. I ended up ordering the boxed version and was happy to actually get the ez version of this radio. I made sure the one I ordered was shipped direct from Revain. I felt like my chances of getting the ez version would be a…
